I really love this Jason Mraz song "I'll Do Anything"

Go make your next choice be your best choice
And if you're looking for a boy with a voice, well baby I'm single
Are you in the mood for some dude?
Are you in the mood to be subdued?
Or would you rather just mingle?
Let's get set then to go then and let us jet set we'll be like the Jetsons
You can be Jane my wife. Should I marry Jane tonight?

See I would if I could. I'll do anything spontaneously.

Or we can keep chillin' like ice cream fillin'
We can be Kool And The Gang if you'd rather hang
Ain't no thang. I can be lugubrious with you.
I got no ifs and ors no wits or whats about it
But this place is getting crowded and my house is two blocks away
Or maybe closer

See I would ooh if I could. I would do anything spontaneously.
You know I would, oh if I could. I would do oh anything spontaneously.

If you could be nimble, you'd have it simple just like me.
So go on and try it, do not deny yourself your freeeeee-dom.

So step on up to the plate get a date with Mraz
See you better act fast because supplies they never last
Now did you know this is limited-time offer
So go make your mind up before our times up
So you better start winding it up because the party's almost over
(and if you should know girl, go a little bit lower now)

see I would do, if I could do. I would do anything spontaneously.
You know I would, and I can prove it that I'll do anything spontaneously.

re he he

New movie added to my list of faves...Mona Lisa Smile. I cried at the beginning when all the girls were wearing their blue, green, red, or yellow dinks. It made me miss Hood again...I know I miss it but I guess when I see images that remind me, it makes me more sad :(

Read an article with a quote from my mom here. Cari and I were not mentioned, though the guy did talk to us too.

Went to a billiards place last night. Cari's friend Debbie is going away for 3 months to Minnesota. It was like a high school reunion of her friends. Thank goodness Jamie went too. Jamie and I played pool for 3 1/2 hours, basically excluding ourselves from others. We both were pretty bad at first but got better...then I got worse again! I wore a cowboy hat that was a hit! A lot of people told me they liked it, including 2 guys at a nearby pool table, not with our party. Bon Jovi's "You Give Love A Bad Name" came on and a lot of us were singing. One guy from that table came over and asked to show me how to flip my hat. Then he did some kick "like Bon Jovi does". He just kept showing me a bunch of times. It was crazy. Then I was talking to the waitress and another guy from that table came over and just put his hand on my head! The waitress looked weird, as did I. He said something to the waitress and then told me something and said they (the people he was with) all liked my hat. Random!

A bunch of the people Jamie and I don't like were there. This one girl is so freakin fake, she says hi and doesn't sound like she means it. You know it's bad when you can't say anything without it sounding fake. Plus, apparently, she says she and some other girl don't like Cari now and are gonna kick her ass. Hello, are we back in high school? If you wanna kick her ass so bad, stop calling our house to plan this damn "party". If the party was her idea, I think she just did it for attention. The whole world has to revolve around her. I think it's damn funny that a lot of people were kinda avoiding her last night...hahahahahahaha...

Also found out this one girl, who is also an ex of Marcus', is now dating a guy I had a crush on. He is Cari's age. He was adorable, not hot, but cute. They seem like they would be a strange couple. But apparently they have been together for 2 years and have talked about marriage. I just can't picture it. Wonder why she didn't bring him last night...but whatever...

So I got so much stuff for Christmas...it's crazy! I got this chair and footstool from Ikea that I wanted so bad! I LOVE THEM! Cari and I got walkie talkies from Santa. We've been having fun with them all day! Cari liked all the gifts I got her. I got mostly things she hadn't wanted but she seems to enjoy them, so I am happy! My dad and Eric came over this afternoon and we had a nice evening. We decorated cookies and my dad is much more creative than I would have given him credit for. It is not even 8 and Cari is going to bed already. We had a sleepover in the living room last night, my mom, Cari and I. It was so fun! But, we didn't sleep much so we are all tired. I am so sad Christmas is over. The anticipation is so big it's such a disappointment when it is over...maybe I'll go watch my new Bon Jovi DVD before I zonk out...Hope you all had a great holiday!

How evil are you?

Please take my Empire Records quiz and let me know how you do. You can see the hall of fame when you complete it but I have yet to figure out how to look at the hall of fame without completing it each time. So, let me know how you do! Enjoy!

So I want to make my blog more fun. Anyone wanna inform me on how I can post pictures on my page or design my own background? I have spent the last hour plus searching and can't find anything...Surely you know, Amy, right? *hopes* you can email me the info...thanks to ya whoever lets me know!

I added a cute terrorism alert level pic on this page. I got a link on Wil Wheaton's page. I like that it matches my blog colors now. Not that it is great we are on level orange but still...

So I found a link to Wil Wheaton's blog on the blogger page. He's still hot. Thought I would post his link on here so I could check on his blog from time to time. Apparently a ton of people read it! How lucky he is...not like my blog is exciting though!

I wish more of our Hood girls had blogs. I freakin love this thing and I love being able to see how Sarah and Amy are doing every day. Makes me feel like you two aren't so far away!

We just had some carolers come to our house. They were cute, messing up the words and whatnot.

I turned down the long-term sub job. No surprise to you, but I practically cried talking to the teacher. She asked if I was worried about telling her and I said yeah. She totally was ok with it though so that made me feel better. I may regret not taking it but I might have regretted taking it if I had. Oh well...I am still hoping for the IA job in the learning center next year. I subbed in that class Friday and I love those boys! They're so much fun, even if they are in bad moods!

TWO DAYS TIL BREAK! WOOHOO

hahahahahaha

the search at the top of my page now has "middle finger"

hahahahahaha

so I just got an email from Hood. In it, they invited alums to a women's bball game. It reminded me of an email I got a while ago and I don't know if you guys got it but it pissed me off. I thought things wouldn't be different for these boys that are now there. Do you know the mens bball team plays games at a high school? They invited people to a "double header" when the men play at high school and the womens game was at Hood after. How is that a double header if people have to drive from one place to another? It was the same college both men and women played too! AND to top it off, the mens games cost money! I guess maybe the high school has to charge money but why the hell do they get to play there and not the women? That is blatant sexism! It even made my sister mad, and she doesn't understand my hatred of Hood having boys so...

I understand a lot of times boys games get more of an audience but a prime example of the opposite is Penn State! I know PSU's men have sucked for years and the women have been good for years but still. Women bball games at PSU get up to 10,000 people at least. Mens bball games don't average half of that. It always pissed me off in high school when the cheerleaders went to the boys games and not the girls. Obviously this behavior continues in college and it pisses me off...

That was my rant for the day...

"Santa sneaks in with the relatives for Thanksgiving and hides in the laundry until Christmas"

I love "Christmas Eve on Sesame Street".

Got an email from Tony Lucca, sent out to all of his fanclub members, I believe. It was a "happy holidays" type of letter. It was so cute. I love it when someone I see as famous (I guess he is, but since he isn't hugely popular, who knows what he thinks of himself) feels comfortable enough to cuss in things like letters. Not like he cussed incessantly (I can't think of how to spell that). He just said "damn" and "ass", in ways I am sure he would say in person. It was such a cute letter. The best part, though, was when he was talking about his album release. He mentioned that he had to wait his turn, since he was just signed to the record company, so others before him get albums released first. Then he said "Looks like my turn is going to be late March. (Grrrr! Arrrrg!)" As you MAY know (and my sister, especially, does), after every episode of Buffy, something (and at the moment, I am drawing a blank on what it was) said "Grr Argh". So as soon as I read this, I thought of Cari. She will love Tony even more for this!

Tony ended the letter with "Be well, always look for the mistletoe, bring your own if you need to. Keep your eyes peeled for the new record in March. Love your neighbor as you would yourself and keep your free downloads to a minimum. Honest Love, Tony"

Tony's the best!

So we lost power again last night. We lost it for 40 minutes Friday. Then yesterday we lost it for 3 minutes in the morning, 40 minutes in the afternoon, and 4 hours last night. I missed GH in the afternoon and wasn't able to watch it on SOAPnet last night either. Luckily, we got power back and I was able to watch it on SOAPnet at 10 this morning. It is getting quite good, in the Dillon and Georgie storyline especially. That is why I had to watch it so bad. Granted, SOAPnet airs it again this weekend but I couldn't wait.

I got Soap Opera Digest Sunday. It had a "Best and Worst of 2003" and that is why I bought it. They named Dawson's Creek as "Best Send Off". They mentioned in the article that listening to the series finale commentary that it was almost going to be Dawson that Joey ended up with. That made me want to watch the episode again, with the commentary that I hadn't listened to yet. So I decided to watch it this morning...so I ended up missing the beginning of GH! It is ok...I saw most of it. Anyway, I bought the second season of DC today, since it came out today. When I got home from taking Jamie back to College Park, I watched the finale of season one and I plan to watch the first episode of season two after GH is over.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH Skye and Luke just kissed on GH...I have to stop typing and watch. I HATE SKYE.

I heart snow! But when it starts raining after the snow and makes huge puddles of water in the road, that is no fun!

This whole capturing of Saddam only has me thinking one thing--this will probably ensure a Bush re-election. That's very upsetting...

Soooooooo glad Sandra won Survivor! I liked her from the start! So glad Jon got 3rd and didn't get money...and I am pissed off other survivors complimented him on coming up with the lie about his grandmother. Makes me angry he enjoys being the most hated survivor...ROAR

I am taking 2 days off from work...I am so tired and need sleep bad! I will spend time with Jamie:) Friday was "Happy exactly-one-month-before-Jamie's 21st Birthday"...I forgot to write on here so there ya go...So sad she will be going to Italy exactly one week after her bday...I'll miss her for those months! Too bad I don't have money to visit!

Happy Amy Birthday!

I had a much better day today. I was in for the teacher I worked with last year when I was long-terming. I love the kids in that class. The worst one though was suspended yesterday so she was not there today. The new kid is also bad sometimes and he was absent. 2 kids are mainstreamed in the afternoon so by lunch, we were down to 4 kids! We made snowmen out of marshmallows and decorated cookies in the pm. It was fun! Trey is my little darling!

OK so I was typing my last blog about my fingers and I heard a vase shaking in the room. It was driving me nuts and I yelled to my mom asking her what she was doing. While I was talking to her, my knee was against the desk and the desk began shaking. I told her and she didn't know what was going on. The vase continued to shake for about a minute after the desk stopped.

WE HAD AN EARTHQUAKE

This was freaky! We just turned on the TV and the news was talking about it. My mom said she thought about that when I said something to her but didn't say anything so I wouldn't freak out. The earthquake actually happened about 130 miles from here in VA but we still felt it! CRAZY!

Sarah, since you talked about your flap on your finger, I thought I might mention this: did I ever tell you about my 2 fingers last year? I cut my middle finger in a "v" shape with a knife in late Dec and just had to get steri-strips put on. (It stuck out when wrapped, so I was like Rosie O'DonnellThen in March I sliced open my thumb with a "mandolin" slicer thing. It had a HUGE flap and I ended up getting stitches. That was my first time for stitches. For weeks, I had no fingerprint on half of that thumb. It is still stuck out and will be forever. They say that so much is crammed inside your fingers that when you slice it open, it won't go back in like normal. I had it wrapped for over a month and kids in the school, even ones I didn't know, asked me about it all the time. It was so nice! I love that school!

Anyway, the reason I cut myself both those times was I am a cooking fiend now. I got this huge knife and that is what cut me the first time. My mom and sister refuse to use the knife because they are scared of it. Well, I watch enough cooking shows to know how to properly use it so I am ok with it. The mandolin slicer is for slicing things like potatoes into fry shapes. I am addicted to Rachael Ray's "Thirty Minute Meals". I watch it a lot and have 2 of her cookbooks. I am a big baker as well. I just made cookies over the weekend. My mom hates when I cook though, cuz I make a huge mess and I hate cleaning up! heehee...

Happy Mardy Fish Birthday! He is one of my favorite tennis players. He is my sister's absolute favorite! check out the link I added on the right to his website--cracks me up, all the fish!

Funny thing is, my grandfather's birthday is today as well. He died before I was born. Guess what his name was? MARTIN! and he went by Marty (of course, not with a "d").

Also, one of my good friends in high school has a birthday today. I haven't seen her since high school. We kinda had a falling out junior year because, well basically, she was a slut and she ditched her friends for boys and then expected them to be there when she broke up with the boys. I hate girls like that...

I had a terrible day today. The kids in the class I was in were terrible. I had to send a kid to the office. I have never sent a kid to the office! But, I have been told I am allowed with this kid. I threatened him with it early in the day and he did not want to see the principal but I guess he decided not to get it together. He started kicking things, like his desk and a bookcase. The class talked so much we couldn't get work done. I actually almost burst into tears. I held it in though. Good thing, cuz, seriously, can you imagine me crying in front of a class? I mean, I guess maybe you could but I can't imagine crying there...

So, of course, I have a terrible headache today. I haven't had one in a while. I will go rest...lata...

SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Maybe I should stop looking forward to any shread of time off I think I will have...I got a call at 7:10 this morning from a second grade teacher who was sick in bed and wanted me to come in. I told her I already had a job in the afternoon so she asked if I could come in in the morning! I just can't seem to say no...So I didn't get to sleep in...

Then, I had a kindergarten teacher ask me today if I wanted to do another long-term job for her while she gets a surgery. I would've probably done it in a heartbeat before this last one. Now, I am hesitant and don't know if I want to...I got so stressed this time. The teacher said she knows the second grade team is like that and kindergarten is not...I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!

Wednesday, December 03, 2003

Last day at my long-term sub job today. So relieved it's over...I am going in in the afternoon tomorrow for another second grade teacher. Keep your fingers crossed for snow Friday--I WANT A FREAKIN DAY OFF.

Went to see Penn State kill Maryland at women's bball tonight. Quite exciting. There were more Penn State fans there than Maryland (it was obviously at Maryland, since I went on a school night). It's really funny that there were only like a few hundred people there and at PSU home games, there are as many as 11,000! Our kick-ass star player had like 35 points! Woohoo!

OK, I really need sleep so I am going to bed now...g'night!

Tuesday, December 02, 2003

Happy Britney Spears Birthday!

So I just talked to the teacher I am in for and I am going in tomorrow. I guess I was looking forward to being off too much. She said she will definitely be back Thursday. I already told another teacher I could come in for her Thursday afternoon so if she doesn't get another sub, I will be in then too. At least I will be able to sleep in that day. I have jobs Friday and every day next week too. I really just want a day off!

Yay, I am so excited! It was just announced that "Boy Meets World" season one, "Popular" season one, and "Felicity" season three are coming out on DVD in 2004. I had heard they were thinking of not releasing "Felicity" but I am so glad they are (I have seasons one and two). "Popular" had the worst ending of a TV show ever! But the show was great...Parsons loved it too! And "Boy Meets World"...love that show. Didn't care for the first season but this probably means that other seasons will come out so yay!
