In the stereo: Tony Lucca

of course that's what I'm listening to! I listened to it four times today...we'll see how long I stay awake listening to it a fifth time. The CD has exceeded my expectations. It is absolutely amazing. Lata...

Penn State lost :(

In the stereo: Britney

Penn State women won Saturday so they play tonight. Woohoo, can't wait until we KILL UConn tonight! UConn is going DOWN!

You ladies might want to check out this website. It was featured in Sunday's Style section of the Post and I think it's fabulous!

I worked for half a day today. Feels nice to be home so early. I think I will read...

You can see a commercial for Tony's CD here. The scenes are (I believe) from his upcoming video. The commercial will be airing on MTV this week, since the CD is out Tuesday. Yay!

In the stereo: ballads

I made a new ballads CD. Jamie might be interested. It's my third and, yes, Jamie, they are all ballads. I know for sure. :) When Cari and I went to DC yesterday, we went to Sam Goody at Union Station. Cari gets her discount there (Suncoast and Sam Goody are the same company). They had the Gary Allan CD so I got it. It was $20 but Cari got 40% discount so it was $12. Yay. I also got the newest Martina McBride, Jamie! I need to stop spending money. I promise, after Tuesday, I won't spend anymore money until Canada (that would be 3 days). Tuesday, of course, I have to buy Tony so I can't make the deal yet. I got 3 items I ordered through the Penney's catalog today and I think I may return them all. I know I am returning the shirt and pants but I haven't decided about the shoes yet. Maybe they aren't worth the price. I don't normally buy Nike. but they had pink accents and I thought they would match my pink jacket and pants. Well, now that the pants are going back, I probably don't need the shoes right? I am justifying it all for myself. We'll see tomorrow...

Was in for the 4/5 class today (FYI, if I ever just say "4/5", "2/3" or "K/1", I mean special ed). KC is such a little shit. I read an article in the Washington Post magazine about a kid who is like KC, but slightly more severe. KC told me he hated me today. I told him OK. He knows what buttons to push. You know me, with anyone else, this might hurt my feelings. But, with him, he is just so much that I have this wall built and nothing he does or says affects me. I am in the class again tomorrow and Monday morning. I dealt with KC last year when I was in the 2/3 class for 3 months. He is a lot worse this year. His meds got changed and since then, he has become a terror. He tells Lori, the aide, that she is a monster. He tells Sheila, the teacher, that she is a "disgrace of a teacher". He does everything for attention. He tries to choke himself and says he is killing himself. Lori is to the point now that when he does it, she lets him and just tells him he will pass out before he dies. That seems to stop him, cuz then his goal would not have been met. I don't think he wants to kill himself. He just wants everyone to care about him. He refuses to go to a psychiatrist, which would be the best thing for him, if anything. His dad died of cancer 2 years ago and he apparently went for a while but then stopped. I feel so bad for his mother.

OK, enough about the kid. Need to go to bed. Good night!

In the stereo: a mix by me

Cari and I are going to DC today. We were planning on getting up around 9 and leaving when ready. Well, it is 7:52 and I am awake. Cari was up too but had to go back to sleep (she had a headache). We were awakened by the doorbell! As you may know from college, when I sleep, I don't answer the door or the phone (remember when my cat was dying and I was sleeping during the day and my mom called Kate and she came down and BANGED on my door til I got up? Also, that snow day my junior year when we totally didn't know it was going to snow and Parsons and Gaynor and maybe others banged on my door at 7 AM and had to yell that there was no school for me to get out of bed.). Well, Cari is the same as me. We have a window on the top of our front door so I crept out of my room (pissed off) and saw some guy in a sweatshirt walking away up our driveway. He walked to this yellow utility truck next door. Then a saw another guy walked from another house to the truck. They both got in and drove away. Weird...and kinda freaky...

My nailpolish looks like shit. Last week I painted on Sunday and it lasted til Saturday. This week, I used a different kind on Sunday and it looked like shit as of yesterday. Sorry, random topic :)

Went to Best Buy yesterday to buy the Gary Allan CD but they didn't have it. They had his CDs from 96, 99, and 2001 but not the most recent one. I was pissed. I did ask someone and they will be getting Tony's CD next week. He wasn't sure how many, could be as few as 2 copies, but at least they will have it. And, hopefully, they won't sell out by the time I get there. As of now, I don't have a job Tuesday so I could get there when they open Tuesday, but you never know--I may work. I work all the other days next week, but only in the mornings. Monday and Wednesday are for IEP meetings to cover classes for 2 of the special ed teachers. Thursday and Friday are half days. I am beginning to have a reluctance now of doing special ed. I really want to but I am a little freaked. I was hoping to work with Molly next year as her aide while I go back to school. Well, she is getting a new student Monday--second grade and still in diapers. It's the aides job to change the diaper. If he stays, he will still be in her class next year. Marianne has changed ONE diaper in her life, and it's been like 6 years at least. So I'm a little squeemish (how do you spell that?).

On a great note, Penn State beat Virginia Tech in the women's NCAA tourney on VA Tech's home court! Quite exciting. Now we get to go to Connecticut (whenever I spell that, I say to myself "connect-i-cut") and beat Notre Dame before playing (and beating) UConn on their home court. So many obstacles (did I spell that correct? I am struggling today...maybe I need to go back to sleep) to get to our first NCAA title...but soooo worth it! Gooooooo Penn State!

In the stereo: Gary Allan-Songs About Rain

This is my new favorite song of the minute. I think I need to buy Gary Allan's CD.

My back hurts. I need a massage...Amy? lol...I can't wait to go to Canada. I also can't wait to go to Capon. I want a nice relaxing time. I wish I wasn't so busy so I could relax a little more. I ordered some books (used) on Amazon so that I will have some things to read at Capon, and hopefully they will get here before I go to Canada on the second so I can read then too. We are staying at Capon an extra day this year so maybe I will get in the pool. It may be cold but I haven't been in a pool in like 10 years. I refuse to be seen in a bathing suit around people. OK, I need to rest my back. I have a job tomorrow but Cari and I may go to DC on Wednesday.

quick post before bed--sooooo excited Leah LaBelle was voted off of American Idol. She was my this years Carmen (who I hated last year). I thought she might go far, but luckily America agrees with me that she sucks. Woohoo! Next week is country music week...Boy am I tired...

In the stereo: a mix Cari made

So not feeling the love in the comments department...nothing to post today though...

In the stereo: Tony Lucca

You can listen to 4 Tony songs on this website. Sounds slightly different than his previous independent releases...since there are like background vocalists and other instruments and all but it is still good...I am addicted to listening here, since his album is still weeks away...I'm getting so impatient...

On another note, Matt Morris is doing a sticker campaign. I can't remember if I wrote about it. They sent me 24 more stickers this week...now I just need really good places to stick em...let me know if you have any ideas. I sent some to Jamie too, so she can stick Matt all over Europe. I'll let you know if any of our pictures get posted on his website. Someone took my idea of having Tony wear a sticker...not that I have any time soon I will see him but still...

guess who's getting sick again? I have felt it progress all day...dammit...

Today, Cari felt like going shopping, which is a shocker, so we went to the mall. We went to Penney's and I got 8 pairs of cool tall socks with stripes at the top (like soccer type). Love em...I also got a bright pink jelly purse, which I have wanted forever so I was excited they had them on sale. We then went to The Icing, which is the same as Claire's, and we got 10 earrings for $5, plus we each got a few more pairs (I got 2 pairs other than, plus 2 of my "5" in the sale were 3 packs, so really I got 11 pairs). I got a 3 pack of ladybugs earrings! Woohoo! Oh we also went to Payless and I got cute shoes. Tonight, we went couch shopping and also I ran in Best Buy to get Mona Lisa Smile. We also stopped by The Container Store, where Cari and I got these CUTE color animal toothbrush holders that stick to the bathroom mirror! Such an exciting day.

Also, to top it off, I get home and get the mail. Got my new issue of Soaps In Depth and the headline at the top said "Return of General Hospital's Lois", which I screamed (like a girl) about! Sooooo excited...but I read the article and it says they haven't said they will bring back the original actress...which would suck...oh well...

The one disappointment I had today was this shirt at Penney's is now gone. I saw it two months ago and wanted it soooo bad but forgot to go back. Back then, there was only one of it so it's not a surprise but I was hoping it would go on sale. It was a ringer tee with the Mickey Mouse Club logo on it. I thought it would be so cute to wear whenever I see Tony perform but alas, that dream is gone. I searched online for it to no avail. Dammit...

In the stereo: Soul Asylum-Let The Dim Light Shine

I love that CD...I just got it (I only had the tape before). I haven't listened in years and I still knew all the words to the songs. Don't ya love that?

OK, I am officially obsessed with Garbage Pail Kids again. I had a ton as a kid and got rid of them FOR SOME REASON. I kept my New Kids On The Block cards but I got rid of GPK. Well, New Kids cards are not back "in" and Garbage Pail Kids are. Cari has them at work. They are $1 per pack, but with her discount, they are 60 cents :) There is "Harry Potty", which I have wanted even though I don't read or watch the movies of Harry Potter. I finally got it today. Also got Brittney Spews today. lol...They really are pretty disgusting. "Lotta Carlotta" is quite exciting, cuz in case you didn't know, that is my sister's real name. I wish there was a Marianne card. There's a Double Heather, where the girl has 2 heads. There's Sarah Slime, which I have, that is kinda lame. Also, Acne Amy, which I don't have. All those (Carlotta, Heather, Sarah and Amy) are gold stickers. You all are so special.

In the stereo: Mitch Hedberg- Mitch All Together

America is really pissing me off when it comes to American Idol. In past weeks, they have chosen I think 2 people of the 8 that I didn't agree with. Tonight, the results of the wild card show came in. 8 contestants, 4 go through. America chose a freakin guy who is not good. There was a super hot guy who actually sang well last night and I can't believe America chose this Jon Peter guy over Matthew (who, by the way is a substitute teacher *grin*). Paula pissed me off tonight when she chose a girl who sucked. They, and by they I mean Paula and Randy, keep saying this girl has potential. Whatever...she sucks now. Mom and I agreed with Simon on 7 of the 8 last night, and barely agreed with Paula and Randy. I am also pissed the judges cut Marque Lynche (former MMC-er) so that he couldn't perform in the wildcard show (they brought back 12 but cut 4 before they sang). He apparently is more of a stage singer. Well, hello, he HAS been on Broadway but come on--he was better than 2 people who got through tonight, and better than people who got through in his original group. And I swear I'm not biased cuz he was on MMC...*wink*

America pissed me off about American Juniors last year, which I boycotted after the 3rd kid was voted through. They kept voting on the cute kids and not the more talented ones. The group totally doesn't look good all together. I had picked my 5 for the group in the beginning and it was 5 girls within 2 yrs of age of each other (11-13) who could all sing. But nooooo, America chose the cute 9 yr old girl, the cute 10 yr old boy who wasn't the best boy in the competition, and 3 of my girls (one of whom is the 9 yr olds sister who always gets overshadowed by her "cuter" younger sister--the older one is prettier). Oh, and what has come of this group since? The oldest girl looked pissed on the final show, I don't think she liked the group together and they have probably broken up, since I have heard nothing. And I haven't heard anything about a second season, so I'm sure that means the first didn't do well. Let's hope...

My anger with America better not continue through the whole rest of this American Idol (sooo rooting for the big football player who was in the Rose Bowl for-I think-Southern Cal). And it better not extend into November...please, America, make me happy in November.

Tuesday, March 09, 2004

Did I already mention in here that Cari, Parsons, and I are going to see No Doubt and Blink 182 this summer? Sooooo excited about that...

Not much going on with me (thus, the lack of blogs). I have a day off tomorrow that I am super psyched about. I had a day from hell today. Was in a 3rd grade class. I love the teacher--think she's great. She has these 5 boys in there that are terrors. They are in everyone else's business all the time and they never shut up. I had to yell so much today cuz NOTHING (turning off the lights and doing all the techniques I learned to get attention) worked to shut them up. I like most of them but I don't get it. Funny thing is, when I see them in the hallway, those bad ones are the first to say hi to me. I find it odd...but maybe, they secretly like me even though they act like they hate my being in their class. OR maybe it's that they get happy they see me in the hall cuz it means I'm not in their class...lol...

Penn State lost last night. Finals of the Big Ten tournament. We lost to Purdue by ONE STINKIN POINT. We beat Purdue twice this season by more than 1 point so I was very sad. Well, we will just have to BRING IT in the NCAA tournament.

Go take this test. Georgia fired the head and asst coaches of their mens bball team last year. They are father and son. The asst taught a course in coaching or something that players took. He gave A's to players who didn't even come to class or take the final test. The link above is the test he gave. Let me know how you did. If you aren't a big bball fan, you may not know a few answers but read the questions carefully--ie, how many HALVES and how many QUARTERS should be easy as shit...

Saturday, March 06, 2004

I did a search on Google for that shirt Jake wore (note: see March 4th entry). I typed in "young vote shirt" and didn't get much so I tried "young vote shirt Gyllenhaal" and guess what the 3rd website that popped up was? MY BLOG! Hot damn...how exciting...

So I found my new favorite website. This is the absolute funniest shit I have seen in a while. I ordered the "voter pack", which includes stickers and buttons. You can view Bush's resume, which is not at all surprising but I never thought about some of it. I especially enjoyed the "Real Quotes from a Real Moron". My favorite: "More and more of our imports come from overseas." (Beaverton, OR 9/29/00)

This website has a shirt that says "We won't mess with Texas if you take your idiot back". lol

Thursday, March 04, 2004

So, tell me if you have seen these commercials. I am not sure what commercials are shown everywhere but these are my recent favorites. First of all, there are the ones about identity theft. There are 3--one young woman in a beauty parlor soaking her feet, one older woman cleaning her pool and a man sitting on a chair. They all show the people talking about what they have done, but in a voice that is not their own. My favorite is the one with the man cuz at the end, he laughs then gets a straight face immediately. I like the older woman one when "she" mentions something about naked girls and her husband gives a thumbs up.

My other favorite commercials are all for vehicles. One is for a Chevy truck with 5 guys in it and the guy sitting in the middle in the back is singing Shania Twain's "Man, I Feel Like A Woman". All the guys in the car are like moving away from him and acting like he is crazy. Soooo funny. The other 2 I like have the same idea--one, these guys are driving on rough terrain and they are heading for "the mountain". They get to it and see how large it is (they were going climbing) and one looks at a smaller mountain and suggests that one. The other commercial has some guys (also driving on rough terrain) heading for a "class 5 rapids". They get to it and see how rough it is and one guy says "Well, if we do a class 3 and a class 2, that's like doing a class 5, right?" Sooo funny...I enjoy commercials...

Except, probably (since I have yet to see them), the Bush campaign commercials. I am so sick of damn republicans saying how great Bush handled September 11th. HELLO--what president would ever handle it badly? You can't tell me a different president would have blown it off and not cared or acted much differently. I am so sick of it all. I am sick of Bush. I am sick of his wife. I am sick of republicans. Sorry. Actually, I am not sorry. We need someone in office now that can get our budget back in order and help us with our problems IN OUR COUNTRY and stop worrying SO MUCH about other shit. I know we should help other people in other countries but WE HAVE PROBLEMS TOO.

PS, I want the shirt I saw Jake Gyllenhaal wearing at that voting thing in LA. It said "I'm young and I vote". Not just cuz I love Jake *wink*...lol...I do not, however, appreciate the t-shirt Urban Outfitters is selling that says "VOTING is for OLD PEOPLE", no matter how funny it was meant to be. Some 25 yr old designed it on vintagevantage.com (I believe he is the owner of the site). "It was meant to be a joke. People took it the wrong way." Well, duh, dumbass. He didn't vote on Tuesday but he "swears he'll vote in the general election". Riiight...

Wow, I cussed tonight.I don't usually in my blog...I didn't know I was in such a pissy mood...Parsons gave up cussing for Lent so maybe I am making up for her...

I figured I might as well stop continuously writing that I am listening to JC. I will write sometime I am listening to some other CD...lol...

So, I am the same as Sarah:

And, Cari is

She thinks it is true...I think she's more evil than that...lol

Tuesday, March 02, 2004

This story is unbelieveable. Part of some woman's house burned up (I don't think completely) in 1997, and police believed her 10 day old daughter was lost in it. She was told she was just hysterical by the police. She saw nothing in the crib and noticed a window open in the bedroom. She speaks "halting" English. She was at a birthday party in January and saw a little girl she just knew was her daughter. So, she pretended to get gum out of the girl's hair and took 5 strands. She got a DNA test done and sure enough, it was her daughter. The woman who took her was arrested in 1996 on arson charges. She announced she was pregnant right around the time of this girls birth and "abruptly" left her job working for the mother after the fire. I cannot believe people actually do shit like this. This is something you see in the movies. Why are people like this????

In the stereo: JC

Totally forgot to say Penn State won the Big Ten Conference regular season, with an exciting televised game against Purdue Sunday. We have beaten 5 Top Ten schools this year and our record against Top-25 schools is 9-3. We are currently #5 in the country, receiving one vote for #1!!! We have beaten Texas (now #3), Purdue (#6) twice, LSU(#15), Minnesota (#18-but we lost once to them too), Ohio State (#22) twice and Michigan State (#25) twice. Our losses this season (besides Minnesota) have come against #7 Louisiana Tech, #10 North Carolina and ODU, who has not been ranked but they have beaten many top schools and did receive points towards a ranking. This has been such an exciting season. I am upset if we get to the Final Four in the NCAA tournament, since we will be in Canada then. Maybe they will show it on TV up there...one can hope...

In the stereo: JC

So, I forgot to write something that happened Friday. I subbed in the same class I fell in on Wednesday. This boy was in the bathroom a long time so when he got back, I said "Did you fall in?" and he goes "Remember the day you fell on the floor?" It was so funny! I found his sister after school and had to tell her. Keep in mind this boy is in 2nd grade! So cleaver...

So, I saw Parsons tonight! We went by Hood and saw lots of ewwy boys. Some fake goth ones...and just hearing the boys in the bookstore all "hey, *name*, what's up?" "nothing, *name* how are ya?" was just gross. The boys are not supposed to be like that. AND Whittaker looks so different--where all the tables and chairs used to be, there is a pool table, foosball, couches and a TV. How irritating. Saw Torrey and also went by Laura's house, where Melanie (last name escapes me at the moment but she graduated in 2002 and was friends with Laura) was too. Spent like 2 hours there. I was yawning like crazy...I am so tired cuz I stayed up and watched the Oscars and had to get up at 7 so I got like no sleep. Plus, a kid in the class I was in today was a terror! He was one who I worked with when I long termed last year but apparently his meds were changed and he is now crazy. He stands up and just paces. He licks his fingers all the time. He falls on the floor and refuses to get up. Bangs his head on ANYTHING he can. He wants attention. I am to the point now where I just ignore it. They are trying to get him in an autism class for next year cuz, though we all think he has Aspbergers (sp?), the people at the Asbergers (that doesn't look right either) program say he is not bright enough for it. So, I have a headache of course. But Parsons and I had to have Midori sours, cuz we went to Brewer's Alley, where we had our first ones (pub crawl). They sucked! They put in vodka! Hello! MIDORI SOUR=MIDORI + SOUR MIX. It doesn't take a rocket scientist. Too strong...OK, off to bed since I am about to crash right here...Voting tomorrow! Goooooo Clark (hey, I can still vote for him!)
