i love snoooooooow

So, I don't know why I Haven't blogged in days but oh well. LOts of things to mention then!

We are having our 3rd snow day of the year today--in a row, also. We could have totally gone to school at least partial days each of these. Snow didn't start til late Thursday and it was only bad in the wee hours on Friday. And today? the roads are still clear and it's almost noon. It's just now starting to get bad. They said heavy snow expected from 12-4 so we'll see. Sucks that I finally had all these sub jobs these days and now we didn't have school. At least 2 or the 3 will have to be rescheduled anyway so I will get paid sometime.

I cut my hair Saturday. I didn't end up quite geting bangs but the front pieces are just below my eyes. So far, I like it but we'll see if I want to try them shorter.

Started "He's Just Not That Into You" on Saturday and am almost done (it's very short). It's quite interesting. Not that I have a man now that I can think much about these things but it will be good for the future. And I think Jodi should read it. We'll see if she'll listen to me or not.

I am hoping we do get a lot of snow in the next few hours cuz I really don't feel like working at Curves today so I am hoping they close. They closed at 4 on Thursday. Keep your fingers crossed!

OK, it's breakfast time. I know, it's late. But, I got up, showered and then went to get water for Curves this morning and run a few other little errands so I didn't have time. Mmmmmm, omelet and donuts...lata

memories...

So, between Sarah's post yesterday (of Laura's song), talking to Parsons online yesterday, and cleaning my room this weekend and finding it, I am trying to fill in this "College" book. You may or may not remember a calendar I had (it was sophomore year but I kept it around and we looked back at it a few times) but this book is made by the same company. It has places to write all sorts of things (titles to guide you) and tons of places for pictures. I got so into the calendar, I was putting pictures everywhere, not just the spots designated. And I love looking at it now.

Anyway, I still have a lot of places blank in the book that I need to fill with stories and such. So, my point is, if you have anything that happened when we were in college together (and I was actually around) that you think would be a good addition to this book, let me know. If it's embarassing, send me an email. I remember things but sometimes because I am thinking of other things, I forget some. Anything would be greatly appreciated. In future years when we have reunions and such, I can bring it along and we can reminisce and it will all be grand.

PS, I just recalled the snowstorm from my sophomore year when we went sledding on dining hall trays at Baker Park...I totally need to add that.

The mail FINALLY came about 10 minutes ago (after 5 pm). I got so much stuff-it was terrific. I got my Tony CD I ordered (can't believe I ordered it the day it became available and I am still number 100-something), my OC shirt (Obama-Clinton 2008), Amy mail (I haven't opened it yet), some address labels (remind me again why i ordered some--i keep finding ones i got for free in the mail), a TV Guide with CSI on the cover, and some junk. I never get this much stuff in one day. Even if we didn't get mail the day before due to a holiday. Sooo exciting.

I am listening to my Tony CD right now (while it uploads into iTunes for me to put on my iPod). It has so many songs I love: Death Of Me, Charmed Life, Sunrise Song, All Up In Your Place, Songbird, Two Trains, Qu-est ce que C'est?, Blowin' Kisses, Here Comes The Flood (Peter Gabriel song--he decided to play it after the election results were in), If You Let Me, Hollywood Chain Gang (the only one I have on a previsou CD), and Around The Bend. Oh yay...

I added a picture to my blogger profile. it's the same one as my myspace page...but whatever.

why

isn't the mail here? it's after 4 o'clock

Go read Ric's posts from Sunday--very funny stuff over there. (if you don't feel like reading the links, at least read the quote I posted in my comments that I got from a link)

We were forecasted to get some snow yesterday. At first it was 1-2 inches, changed to 2-4, changed back to minimal. Well, I saw a couple (literally) flurries about 6 pm (which was earlier than expected) and didn't see any more snow. After midnight, I heard either rain or sleet coming down outside, which is what they said the snow would change to. BUt where did the snow go? I am getting so irritated at Mother Nature this year. I want freakin snow dammit.

I don't feel like working today. My boss is off this week and next so tonight (and next Monday) I am working with a 17 yr old. She's very nice, but since she is underage, she can't do appointments. So I have to do everything. And I don't wanna! lol

I cleaned my room yesterday. Haven't done that in forever. Man, was the carpet in serious need for a vacuuming. And I found some blue yarn. While finishing my cleaning during Desperate Housewives, I stared at the yarn and decided to go ahead and make a crocheted cover for my iPod. It only took me an hour and a half, and that was cuz I had to take out 5 rows and redo cuz they were messed up. I actually crocheted something and finished it! Makes me feel special! NOw I have to find a button for it to secure the flap. And, maybe now I won't buy an iPod cover like I thought I would. Especially cuz the one I want (which does happen to be the cheapest there is) is $20.

it is very windy outside. i am looking out the dining room window and the trees are going crazy. and it's so sunny. yesterday, cari and i went to the mall. she bought some clothes at jcp (after trying on quite a few things), and we went to the icing and stopped by suncoast to say hi. then we headed to silver diner for lunch...and it was POURING (and very dark) outside. it was bone dry and sunny when we went into the mall (and i explained all we did so you could see a timeframe). so amazing how the weather changes fast.

while at silver diner, we used over $2 in quarters to play songs we like. no music was on when we got there so it was nice to put in our choices and hear (most of) them. i love being able to choose music for when i eat out. yay

the lack of snow is still bugging me. i do see a small little pile in the pool parking lot from when the plow plowed. why the one year i buy the almanac does it have to be completely wrong? i don't think any predicted snowstorms came and when we got snow, it wasn't predicted. how frustrating.

today is boring. cari's about to leave for work but she's been getting ready and watching Lost since she's been up. I need lunch but i don't know what to have. i have been typing more and more without looking at the keys. wow i typed that whole last sentence and this one without looking. i am getting good. even though i am making some mistakes. and i am not taking much extra time by not looking. i am still typing fast. i am fascinated. yet, i still don't have my fingers on the correct keys. lol

How crazy that I have only seen one movie in the top ten romantic movie moments...

some of these are HILARIOUS! It's the tvtome forum site for Degrassi: The Next Generation. People post quotes from the show but change the last line to make it funny. Oh, I was dying laughing...mom is downstairs sleeping and I was trying to not laugh too loud, that sometimes it came out a snort!

In the stereo: The Beatles

Why oh why can't we get the freakin Tennis Channel?????????? Not that they would necessarily be airing it...but today is a doubles match of James Blake and Mardy Fish versus Robby Ginepri and Jan-Michael Gambill. Those are like 4 of the hottest tennis players EVER. (they're HOTT) Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh

eight days a week is not enough to show I care

Wow, was Gilmore good last night...I was bawling. And I am loving One Tree Hill again. I really need to get money and get the first season on DVD.

Speaking of One Tree Hill, I went to Tyler Hilton's website last night. He has a journal there and he is very funny. The best thing, Amy, was he thought New Hampshire needs a nickname so he called it "Hampy", as in "staring at snow in Hampy". Then he went into an explanation of it needing a nickname and listed some nicknames of places, including saying "California is Cali and the Dakota's have become the Daks...no? Oh, that's a new one for later." He admits to having become an O.C. fan. I'm glad he seems like such a different person than the character he plays on OTH. That character is a complete JERK.

Anyway, got the Sports section this morning and on the cover were 2 articles on the Washington Nationals, with a picture. The one guy in the picture is HOT. He's 22 and was in the minors last year. I might have to go to a game this year just so I can see his hotness in person. And you know, going back to October, I did say I am not a fan of baseball...but we'll see. Not like there's anything else on consistently at the time of year baseball is on [tennis is on, but I used the word "consistently", which, since we don't have The (f-ing) Tennis Channel, it's not].

OK, Cari just got up so I will go say hi to her and we will have breakfast and we will play games and we will have a fun day off together...or not. We'll see...

Washington Post's Parade Magazine's annual World's Worst Dictator list came out this past Sunday. Not many new names, though Castro has been knocked out of the top ten, along with King Mswati III of Swaziland. Top Ten (with last year's rank in parenthesis):
1. Omar al-Bashir, Sudan (7)
2. Kim Jong Il, North Korea (1)
3. Than Shwe, Burma (2)
4. Hu Jintao, China (3)
5. Crown Prince Abdullah, Saudi Arabia (5)
6. Muammar al-Qaddafi, Libya (dishonorable mention)
7. Pervez Musharraf, Pakistan (not mentioned)
8. Saparmurat Niyazov, Turkmenistan (8)
9. Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe (4)
10. Teodoro Obiang Nguema, Equatorial Guinea (6)

The article mentioned that Kim Jong Il "slipped from first place, but not for want of trying". They spy in workplaces and neighborhoods to "inform on anyone who criticizes regime" in South Korea. And, the people can only watch political channels on TV and listen to them on the radio. In Burma, the dictator released 9000 prisoners...only 40 of which were political detainees (most were common criminals). He also "extended the house arrest of Nobel Peace Prize-winner Aung San Suu Kyi, whose party won 80% of the vote in the last open election (1990)." Did you know China executes more people than all other nations combined??????? How sad that the life expectancy in Zimbabwe is 33 but the dictator is 80! And, in Pakistan, a woman who has been raped must present 4 Muslim male witnesses to the crime in order to present her case.

Aaaaaaahhhhhhh

In the stereo: Tyler Hilton

Cari got CDs of Tyler Hilton, Kelly Clarkson, and The One Tree Hill Soundtrack this weekend. I am oh so excited. She also got Keane but I haven't listened yet and I don't know what I think about them yet.

I am in a bad mood. The weekend didn't go too badly. Eric and I got along pretty well most of the weekend. Mostly, his problem is nearly every time I speak to him, he either: a) turns it into a joke, 2) ignores me, or c) crap, i forget the third thing. I know I mentioned it to him and there were three things but even after mentioning it, he didn't stop. I got to the point I wouldn't talk to him for a while. I did cry once, on Friday, but I got over it. And except for Friday, dad didn't bug me at all (of course, it's not like I saw him all weekend--just Friday and lastnight/this morning)...(the thing dad did that pissed me off was we were walking down the street and he's yelling when I am next to him. Me: "why are you yelling" Dad: "because I want you to listen. I am lecturing". Aaaaaaahhhhhhh, I freaking hate it when he is "lecturing", and to point out the fact that he is "lecturing" makes it worse. hello, I don't need to be lectured. I am 25.)

Anyway, the reasons I am pissed off are 1) the staff development teacher at school called today and left a message that tomorrow's staff development day has been cancelled, and b) Cari ate all of the Starbursts that mom got for BOTH OF US. The second is really not that big of a deal but when I was already pissed off, it was just added on top. This is the second time that SD teacher has called the day before to cancel. It's so irritating not being given notice.

I have to do my taxes. I did them over a month ago but now I have to go back and copy everything neatly and I just keep forgetting. I could have at least gotten one check back already but obviously not. Aaaaaahhhhhh.

I have a headache so it's not making my day any better. I need to shower but I really don't feel like it. I have to work at Curves at 4, but that I also don't feel like doing. Oooooo, I think my pillows are done being washed. I should go put them in the dryer and wash my sheets...lata!

up in Pa at dad's house for the weekend. My page looks how you all have been complaining so I am going to try to at least make it a solid color so all can see. Grr Argh.

Dad has portable speakers here and I am able to plug my iPod in and listen to it without headphones. Yay.

Sad no one made a comment about my "eye goo" entry...

Not much else to say...see ya later...and as always, go read my more comprehensive blog at my myspace page.

I got an iPod! I got an iPod! I got an iPod!

Yay, I got Amy mail today. Such cute stationary/card...what do you consider it?

remember when I blogged but had nothing to say?

Amy, I'm gonna be on a "remember when" kick now. And it's just cuz you didn't remember it and so talking about it has gotten it back in my brain.

I really want to go shopping. I wish I had a shopping buddy. Shopping is much more fun if I have a buddy. I also need to do my taxes. I like doing them early and I actually did my sample (which I can make mistakes on and then just copy for the real one) weeks ago and haven't gotten around to copying and mailing it in. I want my federal tax money (state is like $60)!!!!!!!!!!

I want an iPod. I really really do. And I'll whine if I have to...not that whining will help, since I will be buying it myself and I don't respond to whining.

I need to go to Trader Joe's. I just need to go food shopping. And I love Trader Joe's. And I am saying "need" cuz I have said "want" enough in this post and it makes me look bad. But you all don't care...right?

I started reading this book last night. The author grew up in Australia but a lot of what she says in it seem more English so I am wondering if she now lives in England. Anyway, the thing that bugs me the most is when someone is talking, she uses the apostrophe and when there is a quote inside the talking, that's when she uses the quotes. (for example: Mary said, 'What do you mean "I said so"?' it actually is very confusing for me cuz sometimes I skip around and don't read all the words and it's harder to find quotes, that I do read, when they are surrounded by apostrophes and not the quotation marks) Why is this? I have read books by English authors and they use the quotes and stuff right. SO I need an explanation! Crap, I said "need" again.

Looks like I found some things to say...
