a repost from myspace, for those who don't have it

So this past weekend was a blast. I have been so tired I didn't get a chance to post until now. Got home Sunday around 10 and went right to bed but couldn't sleep too well...so I was sleepy all yesterday and came home, we went to dinner, played a little canasta (which i barely lasted through) and went to bed by 8:30. And yet I'm still tired today!

OK, highlights from the weekend include:
*Sarah's windshield continually getting messed up by snow/frost/ice on the way up and us having to repeatedly stop and dump wiper fluid on it cuz the kind in the car was frozen
*taking tons of pictures
*getting lost on the way (about 20 minutes from Heather's)
*being told by the Rite Aid lady which way to go, only for it to be wrong, and then yelling out the window when we drove back past there
*seeing Heather (and Sarah, of course...but it's been 6 YEARS since I saw Heather)
*falling asleep Friday night to Clarissa Explains It All on DVD
*Heather's pancakes
*seeing snow (but not the driving through it)
* "I'm 'on bee chu"
*meeting Heather's friends
*hearing Sarah repeatedly tell the "yes, AND I fell down the stairs" story
*taking my time walking down those stairs so I didn't have a new "yes, AND I fell down the stairs" story
*5 hours of Asshole (during which I was president once and asshole once or twice...I was happy being in the middle)
*finally catching on to the thumb rule, after Melissa kept kneeing me every time it was in effect
*Jim laughing every time we said "Hood"
*Ryan's belt buckle, which spun AND had a bottle opener (which my camera couldn't get a picture of while he was using it)
*hot boys
*being known as "the one who wears colors"
*Heather finally seeing "the book"
*reminiscing about the old days...
*leaving our coats in Heather's coat closet cuz it had warmed up on Sunday
*listening to Mitch on the ride home
*getting stuck in traffic and being rained on, taking 9 hours getting home

I may add more later as I remember. I've been trying to remember things that I had to write down but we'll see if I have more later...check back...

Tomorrow, Molly has invited me to go to the Maryland basketball game and I am oh-so-excited. Yippee.

So in 4 days, I will hopefully be in Buffalo. Sarah said she doesn't want Heather to know we're coming, which is of course typical Sarah, wanting Heather to wait all day to see. How disappointed would she be if we didn't come but thought there was hope we would? I told Sarah Heather should call Sarah on Friday and ask where she was and if she could tell she was driving, and heard voices, and Heather asked who was there, she'd bne like "no that isn't Megan and Marianne". LOL...can't wait

WE ARE GOING TO A BCS BOWL GAME. For those of you who have no idea about college football, there are 4 BIG bowl games. The bigger conferences have an automatic one college that goes (whoever wins their conference title) and since we got that, we are definitely going...which means WE are definitely go (my mom, Cari and I). I absolutely can't wait for January. I just don't want to go to Florida for the Orange Bowl (especially if we would play Miami) but with my luck, we will. I'd love to go to Atlanta, Tempe, or Pasadena (but the chance of the last happening are slim, though my hopes did get up Sat. night when USC was losing).

Two days to make it through the week at school. Molly was out today b/c she was in a car accident today and woke up and couldn't move. We made it through the day without her, but of course it isn't the same.

I am BEAT. I may not make it through Reunion tonight. But I will push myself too. If worse comes to worst, I am taping it for Cari so there will be a tape of it.

I talked to Heather last night online. I miss her so. May go see her for her birthday. Would be such fun. oh how I miss college...

In the mail today came books I ordered a month ago. Eats, Shoots and Leaves is a NYTimes best seller from 2003. Her new book, Talk To The Hand, just came out, hence why I just got them in the mail. I haven't had much time to read this school year so far but we'll see...chapters are long but they're not set up in a way where you can't stop. I figured I would like the first one especially cuz I am such a stickler for punctuation (and word usage)

Parent conferences today. Two no-shows. One late. They seemed to go ok (I would've liked to be there for the last one, but it was moved to a different location other than our room and it was time for me to leave anyway)

Being parent conference day, it was a half day. And to make it even better, we only had 6 KIDS!!!!! The two squirmiest, talkative, bothersome ones were absent (it was a first for one of them), as was the more annoying girl (love her to death but she says "I love you Ms. Greene. I love you Ms. O'Brien" about 20 times a day. And I am not exagerrating. While it is nice, and shows she craves affection, it does get old day in and day out)

I guess that's all I've got for now...Haven't had much to say so I think blogging once a week is working for me now. It's always a long day so I am just so tired, I get home and do my routine on the computer (check email, check myspace, read Amy and Sarah's blogs, and mine for comments), that I just don't feel like typing a blog entry most days. I just want to do the stuff on here I want to do and get off and do other stuff. Not that I do exciting stuff...watch GH (this train wreck storyline is getting good...sooooo excited Robin's back!!!!!!), read the paper, do the daily Sudoku (if it's not too hard), read my mail, etc. Alrighty, I'll see y'all next week I guess...and in the comments!

Amy keeps complaining it's dark there but I must add it's pretty dark here (I know it's darker up there). It is barely 5 right now and I do not have lights on in the house and it is dark (OK, I have a light by the computer on so I can type). And the light-sensitive street lights are on. It's so dark.

We had a deer jump through the window of our local Giant and run around the store yesterday. I just read the article that said they shot it cuz it was very injured. How sad...and crazy.

HAHAHAHAHA woohoo! While trying to find that link above, I saw this mentioned on the main Washington Post page.

While we're adding lots of links today, have I showed you all the link to my school? If you move your mouse over students or parents, and click on "wmes pictures". Then, click on first day for teachers. The picture in the bottom row, middle has me in it. Looking at the camera, it's L-R: Kathy (Special ed K/1 teacher), Stacey (our special ed coordinator), me, Maria (Kathy's IA) and Molly (the teacher I work with). Also, if you click on "staff list" under parents, you can see my name in print. It makes me happy that I am a part of something now...

I took my contacts out last night cuz my eyes were killing me and I had a migraine. And my eyes still hurt a lot this morning so I wore glasses to school. I didn't get too many comments. I expected a lot cuz no one has seen me in glasses (I wore them once 4 years ago when I was long-terming and no one probably remembers that). I hate my glasses...I need new ones. Mine are 7 years old, and I mean the lenses too--I can see fine but I am sure it's not exactly my prescription. I just can never find glasses I like on me.
