I am drunk. Currently. Jamie and I just watched Clueless and decided to drink for every "whatever" and "as if" uttered. We lasted 4 shots (in a half hour), since we both have such a low tolerance. We've been quite giggly. And I am having trouble typing. I just wanted to type drunk for once, since it's been so long since I have been, before going to bed. Night...

Apparently, there is a new Starbucks HERE. nice timing...

The Village was really good. I totally thought I was going to be scared shitless but I wasn't (ok I jumped at a few points but afterward, I'm not as scared as I was after Signs). Adrien Brody did a good job (I really hadn't seen anything with him in it). Saw the preview for The Forgotten, which we also saw yesterday before The Bourne Supremacy. Really want to see that! It looks amazing! I also want to see Wicker Park, with Josh Hartnett. It looks good. I don't know if I want to see it in the theater when it comes out but eventually I want to see it. OK, it's work time...lata!

I found this site from a link on haloscan comments.  I decided to read a bit.  I can't stand people who vote for Nader.  First of all, I don't like the guy anyway.  But even still, people who vote for him are taking away votes for Bush or Kerry (in a lot of cases, Kerry).  Like I said in the comment I left there, if most of those people who voted for him in 2000 had voted for Gore, we wouldn't be making fun of our president on a daily basis.  The country and world would have been a much different place.  Maybe one day we will have a system that supports more than 2 candidates equally but since we don't now, vote for Bush or Kerry...or just vote for Kerry!  (shameless plug!)

Saw The Bourne Supremacy today.  I liked it better than The Bourne Identity.  Loved that car chase scene.  Didn't like a lot of the camera work--it was very shaky.  Tomorrow, it's The Village time (at 11 AM--before work)!!!!!

in the stereo: mix, currently "Let's Hear It For The Boy"

Got some beads and string and made knock-offs of what Borders calls "book thongs".  It's basically beads on each end of a string that you use as a bookmark.  I got one there a month or so ago and love it.  So I decided to make some, to give to people and what not.  I just made 3.  I got some cute ladybug beads that I was happy about.  I tried to find this bead store my one boss told me about (it's so weird calling her my boss since she's 19 but whatever) but couldn't.  I wanted more choices for beads cuz Michael's does not satisfy me.  I should try A.C.Moore.  I think she said they have a nice selection.  Anyone want a book thong?  Specific requests?  Honestly, I send you one if you want one.  I haven't been too creative recently and missed it.  I also bought a piping bag today, for icing cakes.  I loved using the piping bag when I made my gingerbread house at Christmas.  I love watching Gale Gand and Martha Stewart use them on T.V.  It's rather exciting.  Too bad the tip kit with like 20 different piping tips was about $25.  I wanted that...but I only got 2 tips.

My back really hurts...I could use a good massage...I also miss Parsons being able to crack my back.  Wasn't that the best?  You know, massage was the one thing Gina was good for...

(I tried to add a link on "Parsons" for her website...but apparently it doesn't exist anymore.  Do they actually get rid of sites after no activity?  A site I know that hasn't had activity since February is still up...but maybe that's not long enough)

So I forgot I didn't blog about Big Brother last night.  Argh.  I love Drew(who has a twin), and Cari and I have since we laid eyes on him.  He's my favorite this season.  He admitted last night that he wouldn't like the other jock guys outside the house but yet he aligns himself with them and still nominates Adria.  I thought he might not nominate her after the talk we saw.  Obviously not.  Well, if it does come down to a tie this week, I hope he actually choses to send home Holly.  He needs to step it up.  He should have nominated Scott or Jase when "Nakomis" took herself off the block.  He shouldn't worry about what those boys will say if he breaks their pact.  He already knows he wouldn't like them, it's not like he should care if they hunt him down in real life.

I know you all don't watch Big Brother but read this:  speaking of those asshole guys...Jase  is obsessed with Brad Pitt and thinks he looks like him.  One of the other house guests said in the diary room "Brad Pitt?  More like armpit", and another said "He's more opposite Brad Pitt than my uncle's rear end" (that would be my favorite gay Will).  Also, during the veto competition, Jase said "who do I confide in? my step father" and Scott guessed wrong, later saying in the diary room "I didn't know what confide meant".  Hello, did you pass 3rd grade????  They're such idiots. And, ps, what kind of name is Jase?  That's some shit!

Found this on someone else's blog so I decided to give it a whirl before bed...

Sometimes I feel like I want to say something but I can't cuz Cari and Jamie read this.  Dag nabbit, why did I tell them about my blog?  Oh yeah, to actually get comments...

I just got up...at 12:22.  I went to bed around 12 but for some reason I couldn't sleep and was awake reading until 3, again.  It's getting rather ridiculous.  Plus, tomorrow night I have to sleep early cuz Cari and I are leaving at like 8:30 AM.  Her boss is coming back to work and since they fired someone, the locks got changed and her boss doesn't have a key.  So she has to take them.  So we are going to the Hagerstown outlets.  And possibly meeting dad for breakfast.  Hrmph.

I finished reading The Wedding.  Really good.  Then I decided to start reading this book, Maneater.  It absolutely sucked.  I lasted 10 pages.  The author wrote the screen play for Stepmom so I thought it might be good.  It was horribly written (Cari read the first few paragraphs and agreed).  The main character lives in LA and sleeps with half the city, doesn't have a job (her dad pays for her apt but he's threatening to stop) and is basically a stuck-up snotty bitch.  Just the kind of person I love.  NOT.  Anyone know Border's policy on returns?  I lost my receipt but the sticker is still on the back and it doesn't look read.  I am not usually like that.  I hate when people use things and return them.  But this book was so horrendous that I can't stand having it in my site.

Finally decided on my two favorite Bon Jovi fast songs ("Always" is by far my favorite slow one).  "I'd Die For You" and "Born To Be My Baby".  I hadn't listened to either one in a really long time but now I realize how much I enjoy them.

Alrighty, it's shower time before I am off to work again.  9 days 'til Dean!  Woohoo!

Tony mentions in his blog that he was talking with Joe Firstman and Josh Kelley about possibly doing a fall tour together.  You don't understand--this would be like a dream!  I would HAVE to go, and I would NEED to get really good seats.  I shouldn't get too excited cuz then it won't happen... (I am link happy, courtesy of Joe and Ric.)

PS, anyone check out JibJab?  Heard about the cartoon on the news the other night and finally remembered to look tonight.

So tonight I decided to search for some music that I can get from artist's sites.  I decided to look at Eamon's site.  I like his voice but that first single he had out had so many damn cuss words, it sounded like shit (it makes me so angry, I have to cuss).  I heard the song on his site with all the words in it (by watching the video) and man, there are more cuss words than I even thought.  His new video is for some song "Love Them Ho's".  My goodness, can he have a decent song?  I am so sick of artists who have to talk shit like that.  I understand, maybe when the first song was written he may have been real pissed off.  Why did it have to be a single?  Songs don't sound good when every third word is left out.  I guess I won't be listening to anything else by him.

I am ashamed to say I like Ashlee Simpson's song "Pieces of Me".  I was able to get it from her site.  And I was able to get Los Lonely Boys' "Heaven".  Now I won't have to buy NOW 16.  I saw the song list for that--the first 6 songs I absolutely hate and there's a total of 7 songs (out of 20) that I would listen to/like.  I used to love the NOW CDs when they first came out--I could listen to the whole thing, or even just skip 2 songs.  Now it's filled with Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, D12 and/or Eminem, Christina Milian, Black Eyed Peas (with "Fergie", who is so Stacy and shouldn't have a lame nickname that is ALREADY TAKEN), and Jessica Simpson.  The new one has that annoying Outkast song "Hey Ya".  I like Outkast but I HATE that song, as well as the newer one (about "you think your shit don't stank but roses smell like oooo", or whatever).  While in college and the first few years out, I enjoyed all types of music.  Now I have gotten back to my early high school days and like more rock/alternative stuff.  Of course I love some pop (don't even talk about my Britney or *N SYNC) and country, but I think if I absolutely had to choose, I would choose rock.  In my opinion, I think the people who make that kind of music aren't as cocky and all about money as the shit I mentioned before.

Speaking of cocky people, man Big Brother is driving me nuts.  There are these 2 guys who are in an alliance in the house but deny it to anyone (and target others "because they have an alliance").  One lied to everyone that he is on an NFL practice squad and makes $750,000 a year.  He said he drives a black Escalade.  He also lied that it was his birthday.  How ridiculous!  The other said about the girl who left on Thursday "she's the girl version of me--smart, athletic, beautiful".  HA!  He's got to be the 2nd ugliest person in that house.  Then, he kinda likes this one girl who has got to be the most annoying thing on the planet.  She talks about living with her maniquen (how do you spell that?) and every time I hear her voice as she comes on camera, I cringe.  It is the most annoying voice you have ever heard.  And she's a total idiot.  Of course, she's blond, making the dumb stereotype correct.  I hate people who enforce (that's not the right word but whatever) a stereotype like that.  Makes other blonds out there look bad.  Anyway, Drew is definitely the hottest guy in the house.  He's younger than Cari.  I should check with Parsons on who she thinks is the hottest this year--we like to fight over our Big Brother boys :)  I also absolutely love Will.  He's gay, a registered nurse, and probably the ONE person in the house I would want on my team, if I were in the house.  I totally want a gay guy best friend:)

In the stereo: Bon Jovi

I heart Bon Jovi.  I just made CDs for Jamie and Marcia.  I made myself a copy of one.  That way I won't have to keep tons of their CDs in my car (I have every single one they have made).  Good thinking Mare.  Why didn't you think of it years ago?  I want them to tour again.  They are sooooo good in concert.

Bad headache today.  The weather was awful.  It was gray in the morning, then got really sunny (it was very hot), then while I was at work, it got super dark and a thunderstorm came.  I am so sick of thunderstorms.  We have to have had at least one per week for over a month now.

Got my hair cut yesterday.  I wanted just a trim.  It's not that she cut that much off but it feels so short (it is super duper soft today).  I want to grow it out again.  You know me, I go through my stages.  I wish I had a hair person who could give me extensions on days I want them and I could have short hair other days.  That'd be the best.  Now I have to find a talent that I could get famous with so I can have assistants.

Back to Bon Jovi, I think I like their music cuz their songs are stories.  That's probably why I like country too.  I like it when they tell stories.  Not that I don't like other songs.  But it just makes more sense to me.  I am so not a person who gets vague themes of songs.  There are plenty of songs out there that I have no idea what they mean but I like the beat and the voices.

Just made myself some hot Grape-Nuts.  I love hot Grape-Nuts.  I don't know anyone who has ever had it hot.  They don't print the recipe on the box anymore.  It's one of those things I have had since childhood that I love.  Along with fluff.  We had buckwheat pancakes and fluff for dinner last night.  Mmmmmmmm (MMM 730!  lol)

Oh jyx, I forgot to talk about jyx.  jyx is a new cuss word.  It is universal.  It can take the place of shit, bitch, hell, fuck, anything.  Use it in a conversation today.  Make it catch on.  It'd be funny:)

I could use a good back massage.  Mine is KILLING me.  Makes me think of the first episode of that new Mo Rocca show "Things I Hate About You".  Anyone catch it???

I don't understand what has happened to my fonts for my links on the right.  I am sad...

I really want a Gyro Ring.  It's that toy thing that Parsons had at college, where you spin the 5 little colored rings on that big metal ring.  I don't know how it came in my mind but it did.  That was fun.  I have found some websites that sell it for under $10.  But our internet is being wack so I can't get far enough to see how much shipping would be...

Hey y'all!  Worked last night.  The computer needs to be reregistered so we couldn't get on at all (our 2 managers and the head other girl were all not in yesterday).  So we had everyone sign in as they came, so someone will probably have to enter them all in the computer.  Debating about going to Curves now.  Mom and I Have been up and waiting for Cari.  But it is noon and she's still not up...what to do, what to do.

Watched SLC Punk.  Not quite as good as I remember but still good.

Pepsi has thyroid problems (tumor), just like Jamie's cat, Cougar, had.  They got a surgery that cost over $1,000 about a month ago.  We don't want to do that, since Pepsi's almost 16 (Cougar is 9).  We decided to medicate her every day and see how long she lives.  She threw up this morning, which is a side affect of the pills, but what are we gonna do?  We'll keep a close eye on her for now and I guess if it gets real bad, we just won't do anything.  We don't want to spend that much money if she's gonna die in a few months anyway.  But if we don't do anything, she could develop more serious problems and I don't want her in pain.  I love my kitty.

Cari just got up.  Maybe it's Curves time.  Bye!

Dag nabbit, my comments won't let me view them.

Had a dream last night.  Tony was in it...yippee!  lol  In it, I finished my roll of film and was able to develop my picture I got taken with Tony.  I really need to do that in real life.  Maybe I'll get a heart frame for it...NOT

I work 3 days this week and it may become 4.  One of our owners can't come in tomorrow so I am filling in.  The other owner may not be able to make it Wednesday so if someone is alone, I figured I'd go in.  She came in with me the last 2 Fridays and I left her alone cuz I was lazy a previous Thursday so since our Wednesday plans fell through, I figured I'd go work if she needs me.  If, on the other hand, the calendar is wrong and it's the owner who is working Wednesday, I don't think I want to work.  I shouldn't talk bad about my boss on here.  I have this big fear she would find out somehow.  The owner I worked with today (who can't come in tomorrow) is probably leaving us in September!  I am so sad, cuz she's really nice and good to work with.  Found out today she is only 19!  She looks my age, or at least Cari's (cuz you know Cari and I are so far apart in age).

My contacts have been bugging me all day.  I think I may remove them tonight.  The one that's bugging me is a new one, as of yesterday, since one fell out while driving in Hagerstown Saturday and by the time I got to solution, it was a goner.  Anyway, the new one's been real hazy all day.  I told Jodi about it on the phone but I made a rhyme.  Now I can't remember the rhyme.  oh poo

Anyone watch The Assistant?  Andy Dick is absolutely hilarious.  He makes them do all sorts of SHIT.  Such entertainment.

Bought The One And Only, Genuine, Original Family Band and SLC Punk off amazon.  Wow, those movies should not be in the same sentence...lol...anyway, the first is a Disney movie from 1964, starring Lesley Ann Warren and a young handsome John Davidson (he hosted Hollywood Squares in the 80s I believe).  Also in the movie are a 17 year old Kurt Russell and a 23 year old Goldie Hawn.  We watched it a lot as kids and I love it.  The DVD includes commentary and a behind the scenes thing that's really exciting.  The second movie I have only seen once, when it aired on cable (I think it was the Disney Channel) years ago.  I loved it and have wanted to own it since.  I was buying the other anyway (which just came out on DVD last Tuesday and Cari's store can't get it) and to get free shipping, I needed to spend more.  SO I got them both.  Yay!  Mom and I already watched Family Band.  I may watch SLC Punk tomorrow.  I will be alone at home til I go to work at 3 or so.

PS, just looked up Goldie on imdb and totally forgot she grew up in my county.  She went to a school that now has a magnet program, along with some of the worst kids in the county.  How exciting...

Sunday, July 18, 2004

wow.  Blogger changed.  Don't know what I think about this now.  Some of it's kinda neat, being able to change fonts and colors and make lists.  Everything is easy now with no html knowledge needed.  Now I don't feel special about knowing how to put in a link or picture.

Saw A Cinderella Story today.  Cheesy but cute.  Lots of kids there.  Noisy through the whole movie--at least rustling of bags and paper stuff throughout.  Luckily there wasn't much talking.  I think it was Jamie said she went to see a movie once and some kids were saying all the lines right before they happened.  I guess it was good we saw this opening weekend cuz that could happen later.  We were walking out of the theater and a girl said "hi, Ms. Greene".  I was totally in a different mindset so this was weird.  After watching the movie (I don't know if it had to do with the high school's colors being green and yellow or what), I felt young again and then I was snapped back to reality that I am an adult.

Played Mario Bros on the ORIGINAL NINTENDO this week.  Yay!  I love original Nintendo.  So exciting with not great graphics before the world got so complicated.

Watched MMC the other day.  Did I mention that already?  Ryan Gosling looks just the same now...though he is super hot with his beard in The Notebook.  So funny seeing how HUGE Tony's arms used to be, and also seeing how Keri Russell danced and sung.  Britney hasn't changed much, neither has Justin.  JC's eyes look more open now.  I know he hasn't had surgery cuz they've been like this but maybe he just has better makeup people.  lol

Thoroughly enjoyed I Love The 90s.  LOVE this Loni Love that was on there.  She was fabulous.  "I'm gonna kick your mother fucking ass.  Did you understand that?  No need for ebonics."  Of course, I heart Mo Rocca, Michael Ian Black, and Hal Sparks.  I believe I missed 1990 and the beginnings of 1991 and 1992 but I think I saw everything else.  Very upset they didn't mention My So-Called Life.  And did I miss something or did they not mention *N SYNC?  I know they mentioned BSB so if they didn't mention *N SYNC, that's some shit.  Especially since they talked about that LFO song.  (Mo Rocca=LFO stands for Lyrics that are Fucking Owful, but they misspelled awful)  I also enjoyed when someone said that on the boy band scale it's "*N SYNC, then Backstreet, then on the 52nd rung is LFO".  Yay, *N SYNC.  PS, I just heard Justin is busy doing *N SYNC work.  In Florida.  Which must be writing music, since Joey is on Broadway in "Little Show of Horrors", which I need to see since I got stuck seeing "Rent" on his night off.  Dag nabbit.

Friday, GH had the funeral for Lila Quartermaine, who was played by Anna Lee, who died in May.  They wanted to work it into the storyline, which is why it took so long.  It was a very touching episode, with Robin, Lucy, and Kevin back for it.  I loved seeing Kevin and Lucy in Mac and Felicia's house, like the old days.  And Robin talking with Sonny.  I didn't care much for the interaction they showed with Robin and Jason.  I liked them together way back when and the magazine I get said they would tie up old loose ends, but I don't think they did.

Alrighty, guess that was long enough for now.  See ya later, gators.

Thursday, July 15, 2004

a quick note before mom and I leave for the Mystics game (yeah, it's at 11:30--how weird). First, Cari left her dirty socks by the computer on the floor. Ewww. I hate this. I am trying not to touch them at all but not succeeding well.

Crapola. I totally forgot what I was writing here about. Dag nabbit. Oh well, guess it wasn't important. See ya later...

I came on to blog last night but blogger was down. Now I can't remember what I was going to blog about. Jamie got her Class B learner's permit. She's going to drive the bus at college. I can just see it now--she's 5'2". Heehee

We have had so much rain. I am getting tired of it. Not cuz it's rain (well, ok, but I think if I was in London I would be ok with it) but it's practically always a huge thunderstorm. It was so loud last night. And it is supposed to be bad again this afternoon. It seems nearly every day we are getting rain. Too bad it doesn't cool it down much outside. It's still way too hot. I actually was hot at work Friday and Monday. I used to wear a hoodie each time I worked cuz we have it 70 degrees in there plus 3 fans going. Speaking of work, I got a second shirt. Glad for two reasons. One, I don't have to be seen in the same one each time I work (and I see the same people all the time--people tend to come Mon, Wed, Fri and since I work Mon and Fri...). Two, the first one I had was rather large and this one fits just right. They are both purple, though the first is a dark purple and the second is a lilac color. They match my belt I got at Torrid, which has a few purples on it. Yay.

Guess I'll go. If I think of whatever it was I wanted to blog about, I'll be back...don't miss me too much! *mwah*

Please go here and listen to some songs and vote for who you want to be featured in an episode of The OC. Worry Stones, the band whose lead singer I worked with, has 7 songs up. In particular, I think "Salt Shaker" and "I Might" would sound fitting on the show. Thanks!

Check this out

Tony's journal today ends with "I hope Kerry and Edwards jump up in the polls in the coming days" Woohoo

Headache again. Driving me crazy. I really want to read. Maybe I will anyway. I am on the third Shopaholic book. They are just so damn funny. I also need to watch today's GH. Oh, Fridays episode was just so good! Jason was talking to Nikolas and telling him he knows how he feels and all this and Nik was like oh really? blah blah blah your sister, the bitch! I couldn't believe he called Emily a bitch! Aaaaaaahhhhhh It was such an emotional scene. I love seeing Tyler Christopher and Steve Burton in scenes together, since they both are amazing and they don't work together much.

I guess that's all I have to say for now. We'll see...

Saturday, July 10, 2004

Terrible migraine last night, nausea and everything. I woke up at 4 and it was gone and I was wide awake so I watched GH and read for 2 hours...I'm finally caught up on GH's. Yay! And I quite enjoy my book (Shopaholic Takes Manhattan). Went back to sleep around 6 and woke up at 10:30 or so for good. And I have a headache again. It's making me crazy. I had been doing well--went for days with no headaches. And I haven't had alcohol, which I usually seem to have a drink when we go out for dinner and I have no headache, only for a headache to reappear the next day. And I have no health insurance anymore so I surely can't go to the doctor and get new medicine. Argh.

Today looks like a lazy day indoors. It's way too hot outside for me. Where did the 70 degree weather go? I hate this. I want to move north. Or to England. I could probably get used to the rain. As long as it's not nasty thunderstorms each day, I'd be ok. I would miss the snow though. I guess I'd rather move north. What's it like up in Maine and Massachusetts, ladies?

Worked last night. We now ask people trivia questions during their workouts and they can earn Curves bucks. One question that surprised me was "How many people does Africa's population grow by every 3 weeks?" Any guesses? if you guess, I'll let you know the answer.

British Joe has added a link to my site on his so I figured I would return the favor (see right). Ahhhh, the British... :)

Oh well, that was my little break for the day. Back to my reading...and maybe we'll play Tripoley tonight (no one else seems to have heard of it)...

In my head: Penny & Me (Hanson--hey, their new CD is quite good)

So we saw The Notebook. Enjoyed it a lot. Remembered to take tissues--and went through 12. It was quite different from the book but I guess I'm not the kind of person who cares as much. Little details bother me though. Like the painting she gives him isn't shown in his house years later. Why would they show her giving him the painting if it isn't in later? It is in the book. And in A Walk To Remember (same author of the books), Jamie's hair was the color of honey but in the movie, Mandy Moore's was dark brown. That was the thing about that movie that irked me the most.

Cari and I went with Jamie to one of her mom's coworker's house. She does threading (basically hair removal). Got our eyebrows done. Jamie told me it wouldn't hurt. Marianne has had her eyebrows waxed and cried. She vowed never to do that again. Now, she vows never to do threading again. I think I will stick to plucking. This was painful. Of course, I do have a low tolerance for pain. I'm so sensitive *grin*

I've gotta finish my magazine that came yesterday cuz I wanna read the next Shopaholic book. I got 2 magazines in the mail in 2 days and since I'm between books, I decided to read them. Maybe I will finish it tonight and start the book. One of the magazines I get is Lifetime, from the people who do the cable channel. It's a really good magazine. I especially enjoy the column "What Mom Forgot To Teach Me". You can write in and request how to do something and they will have about 5-8 each month in there. Things include how to load the dishwasher correctly, keeping certain plants alive and removing pills from clothes. This months, actually, wasn't as exciting as normal but sometimes I just love it. It's my current favorite magazine.

So, a British bloke named Joe found me today. He lists "mattress sliding" as one of his interests...as do I. Aw, the Hood Ol' days. I have the picture of you, Sarah, and Sarah Clark sliding framed. All my other evidence is probably in a box somewhere. Oh wouldn't it be fab if one day we had our reunion and 2001-2004's were all there and we did the same old crazy stuff from when we were students? Mattress sliding, olympic bed diving, shopping cart racing, skating on the floor on--what was it? lysol? Sarah could have Clu Su Gea. (note: I have mentioned exactly 3 people from college and they are all Sarah's) I miss college...but I don't miss the work.

Just finished reading Confessions Of A Shopaholic. It's by the same author that wrote Can You Keep A Secret?, which I read in May. Love her sense of humor. Book was good. I got the next two, Shopaholic Takes Manhattan and Shopaholic Ties The Knot. We'll see...

"cigars in the summertime"

Haven't had a "guess the quote" in a while so let's see how you do on this one...(not for Cari) We went to dad's for a "barbeque" tonight. It was fine. Dad vaccuumed. I think that may be the first time he has done so since they moved in...in August. That's dad for ya.

Mom and I are going to go see the Mystics play the Charlotte Sting next week. Charlotte is where our favorite Penn State player, Kelly Mazzante, plays now. I am excited.

Andy lost today. He did get a set off of Federer. There were 2 rain delays during the match and each time before, Andy was doing well, but when they would come back, he didn't. He won the first set and was up a break in the second, which he lost. Federer was up 4-0 in the 3rd set, breaking Andy twice, then Andy tied it at 4-4, before losing it. So sad...expecially since it was the 4th of July and he lost. 4 times Americans have won on the 4th. I wonder if there were any times Americans lost on the 4th. Since it doesn't happen that often. Hmmm...I am glad, though, that Sharapova beat Serena's BUTT yesterday in the women's final. Serena went DOWN.

The Washington Post's Style Invitational (Sunday contest) was real funny today. People had to choose a sentence from that Sunday (when the contest was introduced)'s paper and write a question that the sentence would be the answer to. Apparently, there were so many good ones, they are going to have more winning results in next Sunday's paper. Here are some funnies (pay close attention to the last one):

Q: What line never works after informing your wife that her new outfit does indeed make her look fat?
A: In a good way.

Q: What did Jane Curtin often have to say during costume changes at "Saturday Night Live"?
A: Bill Murray, hands down.

Q: Baby, baby, where did our love go?
A: Love pleaded guilty last month to a misdemeanor drug charge and agreed to enter a drug-rehabilitation program.

Q: What was the worst suggestion given to John Wayne Bobbitt?
A: Using a lit match, carefully heat the bottom of the broken piece, then lightly push the two pieces back together.

Q: How has Michael Jackson been referring to his condition?
A: We are 25 percent female and 7 to 10 percent minority company-wide.

Q: Dear Abby: Is it true that I can't get electorated because Y2K bugs will make the computers confuse my pappy and I?
A: I was touched by your letter to Dear Abby, and I want you to know that you can become president of the United States because of who you are, not in spite of it.

In the stereo: My So-Called Life (on TV)

Just watched a new Degrassi and saw exciting scenes for next week--Marco and Paige's brother finally get together. And they look so cute.

Jamie got me watching (ok, it's only been twice) Adoption Stories on Discovery Health Channel. Today, they had on a single gay man who adopted an 8 yr old. The man had long hair and tattoos. His partner was a fat older man with glasses who looked like a total dork. They totally looked weird together...but he supports the guy in his adopting, which he has always wanted to do. It was so cute. The other episode on today was also a kid, this one aged 10, being adopted. It's so nice when it's kids, and not just babies. Not that it's not cute when it's babies. The first episode I watched with Jamie had a couple who were currently adopted/foster parents of 22 kids! And they were all boys. And they all had disabilities, some really severe. The episode was focusing on an 18 yr old boy with Spina Bifida, among other things. He had lived in an institution of some sorts before the parents got him 10 years before. His parents were reluctant to let them adopt him! Hello, they obviously didn't want him anyway. When he turned 18, he decided it was what he wanted so he was adopted. And it was so cute seeing them all. They had an older kid in the room with the judge and the judge was asking him to vouch for all the other kids in the family, and that kid looked so excited about being in charge. Sooooo cute. Jamie thinks she may want to do social work involving adoption now. Awwwwwwww
