Hello loyal readers! *wink wink*

Mom just read me this article from the Post. It's basically about the dirty ways people are trying to not let others vote. It's all interesting. They key in on things that happened in Florida and Pennsylvania (wow, no surprise there--they're swing states!). It's so obviously repubs doing most of it. I mean handing out and mailing fliers to people that voting will continue on Wednesday and repubs vote Tuesday and demos Wednesday? I know there are idiots out there who might believe that shit so I am glad they found this out now and people, hopefully, will not believe it. But also in FL, 4,000 people have been affected by things such as college kids' registrations being changed to republican and their addresses being changed so they won't be able to vote cuz they'd go to the wrong place. How dirty! Someone is quoted in the article saying this is the worst they have seen in their 16 years working. It's just unbelievable.

So, anyway, Cari, Jamie, Jodi, Debbie and I went to Dave and Buster's last night. (insert: Debbie managed to forget her ID! but luckily they let her in since Jodi was over 25) We lucked out and there was an open table at the bar with 5 chairs! Got some drinks (our waiter got some wrong) and a little food for a while. I had this amazing drink called something like "Darling Nikki". I had 4 total drinks and was totally DRUNK. I was the only one. We decided to get a pool table and play some pool for an hour. After that, we went in the game room and were there for about an hour. It was pretty fun. By the time I left, I somehow managed to completely sober up and drove home. I have never sobered up so fast before but it may have had to do with the water I drank and how I only had 4 drinks...since I have become such a light-weight since college and I don't drink much anymore. I did have a slight headache when we got home and still today but otherwise I'm fine.

Jamie and her mom took me and mom to Jasper's for brunch :) Then Cari, Jodi and I went to see The Grudge. Absolutely the scariest movie ever. Cari doesn't get scared and she said it had to be the scariest she had seen. She jumped a lot...and I screamed loud once, and jumped and yelped a few times. Soooooooooo scary! Go see it! Then, mom, Cari and I went to O'Donnell's...mmmmmmmmmmmm. So yummy. I think this is at least the 3rd year in a row we have gone there for my birthday. Love that place.

I have watched 8 episodes of The OC. Yay. Totally enjoying it. Samaire Armstrong (Anna) celebrates her birthday today. She's a year younger than me. Other birthdays today are Dan Rather, Jane Pauley, Vanilla Ice, Rob Schneider and Ron Rifkin. Yay! Got West Side Story from Cari and Mulan and Meet Me In St. Louis from mom. YAY! Sooooooo excited.

OK, my back hurts so I am gonna go lie down. Watch last week's Strong Medicine with mom...then maybe another episode of The OC, before Cold Case and Desperate Housewives come on.

Jamie just informed me that a guy her brother and I went to school with (from elementary through high school) is a DJ on DC 101! That's so awesome! Good to hear people are doing exciting things with their lives. Well, at least one person. I will have to tune in on Sat/Sun nights and see how he is.

Jamie's home! Yay!

Cari and I got 7-Election Kerry cups today with coffee. Yay, Kerry!

OK, that's it for now. I know I had something else to say but I forget. Jamie and I went to go to the Seneca/Northwest game but it was PACKED and we got stuck in the parking lot so we found our way out and just left. The score was 8-6. That's all we know...oh well.

Cari watched some trailers here last night and told me I should check a few out. Dakota Fanning looks amazing in Hide and Seek with Robert DeNiro. Will Smith looks fabulous in the ROMANTIC COMEDY, Hitch (with Kevin James, who gives him a peck on the lips in the trailer). I can't believe I have to wait so long.

Jodi, Cari and I are hopefully going to see The Grudge on Sunday. Woohoo...It looks sooooooooo scary. I hope I can sleep that night.

Woohoo, Red Sox! Honestly, the Cardinals looked so terrible during the World Series, it is a wonder they got that far. They couldn't do ANYTHING. Cari says there is a movie being made about a sports team that is a perennial loser and it's either based on or mentions the Red Sox...and now it's crap! heehee OK, now I can go back to my old baseball-hating self...at least til the spring. We'll see if I wanna check out the new Washington team.

I have been a good little blogger this week. I decided even though I don't get comments that often, I might as well blog and hope that it's being read sometimes.

I was having a bad craving for fruit leather so after school, I went to Cari's store and gave her money to buy me The OC later and then I headed to Trader Joe's. I heart Trader Joe's. I got some Laughing Cow cheese, some sesame sticks, some pad thai noodles, some wafer cookies and 11 fruit leathers. Mmmmmmm. I ate 2 fruit leathers in the car. And you know I figured out. They are MUCH better than fruit roll-ups. One thing, they are 100% fruit. Another thing, I bet their cheaper. You probably pay about $3 for a box of 8, right? These are 27 cents each, making my 11 cost me under $3. And being real fruit, I bet they fill you up longer than sugary fruit roll-ups. PLUS, of course, they taste way better! Mmmmmm...I remember when the Giant had fruit leather when I was a kid. It was such a treat when I was allowed to get them. I don't think they called them fruit leather but I am pretty sure they were 100% fruit.

My hands smell like play-doh still. The kids were pretty good today. I was in the K/1 class. One boy, who's a darling and doesn't misbehave, was absent :( I love playing with play-doh. It's kinda therapeutic. And they had terrific colors, like turquoise (which I used) and SILVER AND GOLD! Silver and gold play-doh? Yeah! They were all sparkly and beautiful. I am sure the colors will get mixed up soon so I guess it was good I saw them when first opened!

Dean emailed me back. There was a mix-up and they aren't playing. *wwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh* OK, had to let that out. I thought my live music withdrawal was going to end soon...but it will have to last longer. That sucks.

Red Sox looked awesome last night. Too bad the Cards got that one homer late. Anyway, tonight's gonna be it. I know it. I shouldn't say that but it'll be grand. I saw the stats in the paper today. 18 teams have been ahead 3games to none in the world series. 15 have gone 4-0 and 3 went 4-1. That is good news! Yay!

With Chief Justice William Rehnquist's cancer, it really got me thinking. I am glad he is a conservative so if Bush is reelected, he will just replace him with someone with similar views. Hopefully, the liberal judges have enough sense to wait to retire until a liberal is president again (unless, of course, they have to for health reasons.) It scares me what this country could be like if Roe v. Wade was overturned. I read an article about what it used to be like before Roe v. Wade and it was scary (it was written by someone who was a doctor back then). Women are going to get abortions if it's legal or not so why not keep it legal and let them get the safe, clean instruments needed without them having to go to some dirty place where they are risking more.

I am very sad today. I couldn't get to Target until after school, which is the first place I went after school. Did they have any copies of The O.C. season one? Nooooooo. I did get a rain check but I was really looking forward to watching the episodes this week. I may just have to spend the weekend watching them, and making Jamie watch them too! Maybe...she may not be willing...hopefully, I can at least get her to watch the Chrismukkah episode. Target has the DVDs MUCH cheaper than anywhere else. I could have Cari buy them tomorrow at work and it'll be a few dollars more...or I coulda tried Best Buy, which is $2 more. Circuit City has is for about $15 more, which is CRAZY.

Also, I got an email today saying Dean isn't playing the night we were planning on going. The manager said "sorry for the changes". How frustrating...I emailed him the info, in case he doesn't know. I have this fear he will be mad at me for checking it out. Cari said he won't and Jamie said to definitely tell him about it but still I worry he won't like me anymore. Now I have to wait LONGER for live music. This sucks.

Worry Stones are playing this weekend, Friday in Howard County and Saturday in VA. I kinda want to go...but I want to go with JCPenney people, so I wouldn't be the only one who knows Tim. But Jamie's home this weekend and I am hanging with her cuz she's the bestest!

My back is killing me so I think I will go lie down. My day was ok--I was in the 2/3 class and I love those kids. The 4/5 class got a new kid and the IA told me he was terrible his first day--he even gave me lip while waiting for the bus! Can you imagine a child giving you attitude the first day like that? I have never seen that before. Usually, a kid comes in and they have to test the situation and see how they can get away with stuff. But with this kid, obviously he doesn't care. Just what they need.

Oh the skeptics about who I wrote my things about. I did not write any about the regulars who read this (i.e. Cari, Amy, Sarah), as much as Sarah likes to think I see her as a whore (which is the wrong wording for the person I did write that sex comment about). Oh well!

Just read Tony's blog. Oh, how I love that man more each time he blogs. He goes into some serious Bush-hate/Kerry-love talk and it's so FABULOUS. He started his paragraph saying he wasn't getting into politics...and then did anyway! :)

On another Tony note, someone posted mp3's of one of his shows from last month on his message board. I downloaded them all and finally listened today. Before he sings "Seen Some Better Days" (which is off of one of his early independent CDs), he says some great stuff. I will paste the words here...enjoy!

_____"I wrote this after I got shit-canned from the Mickey Mouse Club.
_____And don't let anyone tell you differently--we all got shit-canned.
_____They tried to come up with all these lofty explanations from
_____Burbank as to why we weren't coming back to work next spring. It
_____was pink slip city. I did some digging into my inner homeboy and
_____I wrote a song to all the fans who thought they knew me, cuz the
_____Tony that says 'Hi, I'm Tony, Welcome to Mickey Mouse Club' was
_____never a Tony of mine"

Isn't he fab?????????????

Anyone catch the BASEBALL score of the game I attended this weekend? 6-4? Are you kidding me? What football game has a score of 6-4? Our offense looked absolutely PITIFUL and our defense looked AWESOME. Such a shame...I have now added one more birthday wish to my list (which includes snow and Kerry winning the election). It's that Penn State beats Ohio State this weekend. It could happen. They have 3 losses in the conference. If we beat them, we will have the same conference record as them. It could prove we aren't QUITE as bad as everyone thinks...

As per Cari's friend Kristin, I am writing statements intended towards 10 different people. There are supposed to be ten but I have seven. They should be something you have never told them, you would never say to their face, or something you wish you would have said, but didnt. Here goes:

1. It drives me CRAZY how quickly you go away after talking. Let a person get a goodbye in!

2. I hate how you sleep with a guy when you know you won't have a relationship b/c his parents would never approve. You deserve better.

3. I hate your tattoo. It makes you look trashy.

4. You are the most selfish person I know. You deserve a heck of a lot more blame in situations than the rest of us. Just because you have more time on your hands doesn't mean I do.

5. Be your own person. Don't say or do things b/c you think your friends or someone else will approve. Make your own decisions.

6. You are higher-maintenance than you think, but you still won't believe it. You should listen to others more b/c your thoughts about yourself are not always correct.

7. You really need to stop yelling at kids. The job may be stressful and the kids problems but yelling solves NOTHING.

FYI, since Cari reads this, there was no point in writing something about her or mom on it...since she'd figure it out. So nothing here applies to either one of them.

Alrighty, It is bedtime. I shall go to my room and finish watching the Red Sox...how have I become a baseball fan in 4 days? This is getting ridiculous. I watched nearly all of the game last night and now tonight...argh...

Thursday, October 21, 2004

I am so tired. I actually had a sub job today (morning only) but I stayed up to watch the Yankees lose. I HATE baseball, with a passion, but I got into it last night, rooting against NY. They are so cocky it's ridiculous. SO I am happy they lost! And the fact that it was one-sided from the start!

Anyway, I got a CD of Shiloh in the mail today. 2 guys in Shiloh were on The New Mickey Mouse Club. Tony performs with them sometimes (one of the other members, not from MMC, is Tony's cousin). It's really good. It's country though, so you all may not like it (except Cari...and if Jamie reads this).

I know I had something else to say but I am blanking out. It's nice and cold outside...too bad I didn't wear enough layers to school today. The classroom was just as cold, since the county hasn't converted to heat yet. I was in a sweater over short-sleeved shirt...so I froze. Most of the kids had on their coats!

OK, I guess I will add later if I remember what I have forgotten. I am gonna cuddle on the couch with the cat and stay warm, listening to Shiloh.

ADDITION: I think my cat has alzheimer's. She has taken to walking in circles. Like 6 times in a row. Around the kitchen table, dining table. Sometimes I think she thinks "oh, I feel like walking around the table". She does and then thinks "I think I'll walk around the table". She repeats and thinks "You know, I just want to walk around that table. Haven't done it in a while". She also sits awkwardly (without butt on floor) in the same position for 15 minutes. AAAAAAHHHHHHHH (as I type this, she has just returned from the living room and is on her 3rd time around the dining table--before I typed it, she had done this)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

We have a new person at work and I don't like her very much. Doesn't that sound awful? She's very in-your-face with the customers. She talks incessantly to new customers. And she butts in when I am doing things with customers. I feel like sometimes she talks down to me, I don't know if it's cuz she is older than me or what. It's just very frustrating. When I found out she was working tonight, my insides screamed.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Mom made pumpkin cookies tonight. Oh, how I LOVE LOVE LOVE pumpkin cookies. They may be my favorite homemade cookie. Mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm. That's all I have to say...frustration and yummy cookies! Good night!

12 days

So I was awakened by the phone this morning about 8:20 and I think it was the school I sub at (the number is different on caller id than what i call). They didn't leave a message. I panicked, thinking what if I made a mistake and I am supposed to sub today! So I got up and checked my planner. I didn't have to sub but I do have to work at Curves, which I totally forgot about! Oh well, it's ok. People kept saying "see you tomorrow" yesterday and I kept saying I wouldn't be there...but I will! And someone asked when I work again and I told them Friday...and I am off on Friday this week! My mind has been somewhere else. Yay, Penn State homecoming this weekend! 30% chance of rain, unfortunately. And Cari's not coming, which sucks. But hopefully mom and I will have fun!

We booked a hotel in New Orleans for spring break! It happens to be the hotel where the cooking school is located and where you can take the classes! That is something I REALLY wanted to do, so now it's so convenient! Yay!

OK, nothing else to say...I just wanted to blog since it's been a few days. Teresa Heinz Kerry was on The View today. She is so fabulous!

Saturday, October 16, 2004

I don't like most of what I found on this website (I do think they seem biased) but here is what I did find on Bush:

"Against gay marriage, but leave it to the states. (Feb 2000)"--and yet now he says they can't get married. FLIP FLOPPER

"Hate-crime rules don’t apply to gays. (Jul 1999)"--ARE YOU KIDDING ME? How is it ok to commit a crime against someone who's gay and not to someone who is a different race?

"FactCheck: Bush indeed is half-owner of timber company. (Oct 2004)"--Hey, dumbass, stop trying to joke about shit you know is true. Or are you such an idiot you didn't know you owned it????

"America is the land of the second chance. (Jan 2004)"--and yet, they shouldn't be allowed to vote?

"Teaching to the Test is good, if testing basics. (Feb 2001)"
and
"Test every grade every year & publish results. (Apr 2000)"--teaching for a test doesn't work. Children need more music, art, physical activity. They spend way too much classroom time working to be ready for tests.

That's all because there was so much and I have things I have to do....

In my head: Curves music! Ahhhhhhhh!

I have had to pee so much today. Oh yeah, I did have 2 16 oz bottles plus 3 glasses at lunch of water today. No wonder...lol

Went to Petco yesterday and got a betta tank. I didn't get one of those vases for fish and plants. I saw this tank and liked it. It has a divider in the middle so I can have 2 fish, which makes me happy, since bettas fight with each other so they say to get one per thing. I haven't gotten fish yet--I'm supposed to have the tank set up for a while before adding fish. I hope to get some tomorrow. I had seen tons at Pet Smart (which is closer to me than Petco, but hadn't had betta tanks) so I'll go there for the fish. I want to go with blue/purple ones. I put gravel in my tank, blue on one side and purple on the other. The divider thing is blue. Guess what my color scheme is? If I am able to get one blue and one purple-ish fish, I will probably name them Amethyst and Sapphire. I know, I'm cheesy but I love it! Plus, I have a feeling if I name them other names, I might mix them up at first. It's be funny if I named the blue one Amethyst and purple Sapphire...ok enough of that craziness...

I totally had lots of things to blog about but I can't remember, now that mom got home from bridge and was talking to me. Cari and I decided tonight we want to go to New Orleans. Got 4 books at AAA today: Atlanta, New Orleans, San Francisco, and Seattle. There's such fun stuff in N.O. Yay!

OK, I am beat...hurt my knee bad after working out today so I think I will go ice it and go to bed. G'nite!

Thursday, October 14, 2004

On my way to work today, I was greeted by Kerry supporters at an intersection in Germantown! Oh, it made my day, to see them so early! Woohoo!

And for what I typed last night but didn't post:
Dick Cheney had mentioned in his debate about "his job" (his words) presiding over the Senate on Tuesdays. This is a list of which senators presided over the Senate for the Tuesdays since Cheney has been VP. I'll save you time: he has done so twice, the EXACT SAME NUMBER as Edwards!!!!! Hillary Clinton did so thrice. How ridiculous.

Oh, this record of Cheney's voting is very interesting...

Cheney calls Kerry a flip-flopper? He even states in this article, from back in 2000 during that election year, he would vote differently "now" (as in, in 2000). I am so sick of the hypocrisy.

Wednesday, October 13, 2004

"Democrats are sexy...who ever heard of a great piece of elephant?"

How irritated was I when reading the blog entry titled "More Election Mischief". It's also mentioned here. It's so sad that repubs have had to resort to such drastic ways to make sure they win. Obviously, they are scared they may not. I don't remember hearing this shit happening 4 years ago.

Got a little teary watching this great ad. Some more great ads, the second one with the woman crying of course made me cry as well. Look down left side for a Jimmy, the Cab Driver ad!

Go sign this petition. I can't believe the shit I am seeing today...

Love this...#29 has been a big point I like to make. All this talk about Kerry and Edwards not being in Senate to vote...and Bush has had the most vacation of any president? Give me a break and stop mentioning the lack of voting. Honestly, I'd LOVE to see Cheney's Senate voting record in the 80s.

Still love these panties.

Oh how frustrating...I know it's old but it's important.

I guess that's all for now...Can't wait for the great debate tonight! And I have to sub tomorrow...so I won't be sleeping much tonight! Oh well!

vacation shmacation

So I am asking for comments. I haven't been feeling much comment love and I am requesting comments. Particularly cuz I want ideas! Cari, mom, and I want to go away for spring break again this year but we don't know where to go. We have talked about Boston, Chicago, and New Orleans so far (haven't totally ruled out the latter but we'll see). Got books from AAA for the first 2 (are going to get one on N.O., hence why it hasn't been ruled out). We then realized dad will be in Chicago that week so Chicago is definitely out. I looked through the book on Boston but it doesn't seem like there would be enough that I would be interested in doing for a whole week. We would fly so we wouldn't have a car (plus, I am sure parking is expensive in the city), so we wouldn't be able to go to other cities. Marianne doesn't like much history stuff, hence why I don't know if there would be enough for me to enjoy. Cari, on the other hand, would love it. But I don't wanna go somewhere I won't like. I do want to go to Boston sometime...but I don't know if I would spend a week there. So...I am asking for anyone's opinions about suggestions on where to go. Either places we could drive (a reasonable distance) to or places with cheap flights (through Fly I or Jet Blue...something cheap). I don't like hot weather much, plus a lot of teenagers would be going to hot places for spring break...and you know I can't stand teenagers. Places there are lots of things to do...that wouldn't cost a ton extra to do. So, let me know any ideas you have! Thanks bunches!

In the stereo:Bon Jovi

argh, I just had trouble with IE so I lost what I was posting. Oh well, it really wasn't important.

Had a craving for cupcakes last night so I decided to make some...around 9:30 I think. They're yummy.

Watched the episode of Dawson's when Andy takes E. So sad when Jack gets all pissed at Jen. I really wanted to see that episode. Oh how I love 4th season.

Got an email that "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" is in the works for DVD. Used to love that show. The first Jimmy was so better. How sad that they verify this info the day after Christopher Reeve died. I can't believe 3 famous actors died in a week again. It really is strange how things happen in 3s. I was waiting for the third once I had heard about Rodney Dangerfield and Janet Leigh. Ladybugs really needs to come out on DVD. How upsetting that now it's 2 stars are both dead. It hasn't even been a year and I still can't believe Jonathan Brandis is dead...I watched a bit of Her Last Chance this weekend. Can't remember if I have mentioned it on here. It's totally my favorite made-for-tv movie. Kellie Martin plays a high schooler who is big into partying. She ends up in rehab. Tony Lucca (oo, oo, i met him! he's fabulous...bet you never thought I thought that?) plays a guy in rehab. Jonathan Brandis plays her boyfriend, Devon Odessa ("My So-Called Life" fame) plays her best friend, Patti LuPone (her mom from "Life Goes On") plays her mom and Jenna Elfman plays her sponsor. Such good acting (Tony was better in it than in "Malibu Shores") and such names. It came out right around the time of "My So-Called Life" and Empire Records, and had a song from Empire Records in it. So many reasons to love the movie. Lifetime still airs it every other month or so.

Anyway, guess that's it for now. My legs are killing me--I could use a good massage. I will have to settle for just putting my feet up. G'nite y'all.

My favorite question of the debate tonight was the last one, directed to Bush, asking him to name 3 times he was wrong in his years as president and how he overcame them. How did Bush respond? He totally didn't answer the question. Saying what you think the person meant when asking that is not answering. If you actually freakin answer a question when asked, it'd be nice. Argh. Kerry did so well tonight...

How 'bout them debates??? :)

Our computer is working today! Let's see if it freezes on me before I finish typing this.

The Kerry/Edwards yard sign I signed up for at the Mont. Co. fair in August got delivered Saturday. Oh, it makes me happy every time I see it!

Worked out at Curves yesterday and there was one other lady there. We started around the same time and were stretching together and started talking. Her son was in Iraq, as of last week. He is a pilot and got injured. His crew was sent to Korea, where he is now, until healthy. He's not hurt enough to come home. Anyway, my point is he has told her it is A LOT worse than any of us can imagine over there. He said Korea is like a spa compared to Iraq. He has never felt this much hatred in his life. He says the people over there would rather have Saddam back in power than us over there. There's a ton of terrorist activity going on all over. And that's not even all of it. He says all the guys think Bush is a complete @$$ and their absentee ballots are going for Kerry! How happy I was when told this.

My one boss at Curves is an extremely conservative Republican whose son just went to Iraq (my other boss there is a very liberal Democrat). She believes all the men over there are for Bush. I don't want to tell her what this woman said cuz she and I already got in a politic argument last week. I am not starting that again (I didn't know her views when I asked her if she saw the Kerry booth at the Oktoberfest...).

The Dems have looked fabulous in the debates so far. Edwards was on Regis and Kelly today and was so great (I totally forgot to watch him and his wife on The View--I am pissed). Kerry did sooooo much better than Bush. You know what? People made fun of all the times Bush said "wrong war, wrong time, wrong place" and freakin' Cheney went and said it 3 times Tuesday! How ridiculous. I hear the republicans complaining our guys keep repeating themselves. Are the republicans listening to the republicans? They are repeating themselves a whole lot more and I am sick of it. (PS, courtesy of Jamie, a website for your enjoyment)

OK, I had to type that for you all to see. I now need to go watch Survivor...and all those other good Thursday shows. Got Aladdin and Dawson's season 4 this week and I am so happy! See ya...soon I hope!
