Just finished watching the VMAs. Kinda disappointing. I definitely think 2 years ago when Jimmy Fallon hosted was by far the best year, when it came to host, performances and those who announced awards. Jimmy's opening rocked (I still have it on tape), Ben Stiller coming out during P. Diddy's announcing was awesome, and I really enjoyed Justin's first performance of "Like I Love You". Of course, Axl and a fake Guns 'N Roses ended the show and that wasn't that exciting but the rest made up for it.

This year, it was cool that Stevie Wonder was there but I wasn't that excited. The women dressed for shit. Even Mandy Moore, who I think usually dresses well, didn't look that great. Liked the color of the dress and loved her hair but didn't like the cut of the dress. So many women had TERRIBLE hair...the only person Cari and I decided looked good, overall, was Haylie Duff. Nice hair, subdued outfit (jeans and nice top). Hilary Duff bought some pants (I am totally blanking on the brand) and said she chopped them off to be shorts...and they looked hideous. Christina Aguilera, who we all know I can't stand, had on a fake mole. A fake mole????? I don't care if it kinda went with her outfit, it was fake and that's lame.

Hoobastank stank. I like them...but we KNOW the singer was trashed. He sounded HORRIBLE. Vomit Beyonce won a few awards. And of course her bf, Jay-Z, no matter that I do like him, won a bunch too. I swear Beyonce's mom works at MTV and the shit is rigged. I mean, come on. She won 5 last year and more this year and it was the same damn album. And she isn't all that. Someone announced her as being one of the hottest women out there or something and I wanted to puke.

Cari noted that the awards this year and last ended with the same song--OutKast performing "Hey Ya". How lame.

(reread the red link words...what a laugh...sums up my thoughts on the VMAs)

I'm gonna add the email post link button so if you love my posts, you can email a link to your friends...yay...

All I have to post is about Craig Kilborn. Watched the last episode last night. You know me, I cried at the end. He did his little "dance, dance, dance" thing and danced, along with some staff. Then he started spinning and they cut to a scene where he was still spinning but there was no one left in the studio. He started walking towards where he comes in and the music came on for a few beats so he danced a little. Then he continued walking and turned back at the wall and they froze that scene in black and white...and I cried. It was an "end". Sometimes things just end but this was definitely a definitive end (liked that sentence, didn't ya?). Very sad it's over...

It's off to Charles Town Races and Slot with mom, Marcia and Jamie's grandmother. Wish me luck!

"hey, look at me! I'm gonna go touch the butt."

In the stereo: Dawson's Creek

I have found a way to enjoy homemade oatmeal! I have always loved Capon's oatmeal but not liked when we make it at home. Well, I decided to grind up the oats and it's much better. I think I may make oatmeal cookies by doing the same thing. Yay!

Anyone seen the new Alanis video? It's interesting. I don't know if I like the song yet. When I turned it on, the sound was low and it looked like it was her "Thank You" video but I was confused because the show on VH1 was "Fresh New Music". I turned up the volume and the next thing I know, it goes through all her videos. The new song is put to scenes from her life over the years, backwards. After her videos since 1995 (as "Alanis Morissette"), it goes through her videos she did in Canada (as "Alanis"). Then there's a little scene of her from "You Can't Do That On Television" (ps, I really want to see that show again). It goes through home videos and ends with a woman giving birth, I guess supposedly her birth. It was kinda neat.

I have to work today. Why can't we get paid for not doing anything? It's not that I hate my job. I just wish I had something that I couldn't wait to do each day. When I get home, it's time for "Deagrassi: Unscripted" and the season premiere of "Radio Free Roscoe", which I've been waiting for, on The N. Yay!

"Fish are friends, not food"

Please explain something to me. I just went to google and searched something. It came up with 7 pages containing 66 sites. I looked through page 1 and continued to page 2. WHen I scrolled to the bottom, it showed only 6 pages. I continued on to page 3, 4, and 5. When I got to page 5, it showed there were no more pages. It said at the top "showing 41-45 of 66" yet it wouldn't let me see 46-66. "WHY?" I ask you...I don't understand this.

You know what's freaky? When you're either home alone or the only one awake. You haven't been in the shower stall (nor has anyone) in over a day. All of a sudden noise in the shower! Your razor has fallen and somehow knocked over your big bottle of body wash. How can a razor knock over a bottle, you ask? I would like to know too. I know we can't possibly have a ghost in our house, can we? We are the original owners and the only person who has ever been to our house (as far as I know) that is currently dead is my grandmother. And she was so good I don't think she would haunt us. Creeeeeepppppy.

OK, it's off to a shower and then meeting Molly for lunch. She's the special ed teacher at the school I sub at. Can't wait to hear all the new gossip from this year...I saw the staff list and there are so many changes! Later, I am going out to eat at Pargo's in Frederick with my WHOLE family...this will be loads of fun...

"Sometimes the laughter turns to loathing. Well, not really. I just like alliteration" -Mo Rocca on Things I Hate About you

Dean...turn your head and you can see him puckering up! :( Posted by Hello

this is what my blog looks like to me Posted by Hello

"Say no more, mon amour. Lips for kissin, baby, je t'adore, mwah!"

Lots of stuff to blog about...I hope I remember it all. Just finished watching The Daily Show. John Kerry is going to be such a great president. Jon Stewart asked him about how people keep knocking his time served in Vietnam (Jon said he has watched cable news channels and found out Kerry did not serve in Vietnam--his words. Kerry had a laugh.). Kerry is trying to take it all in stride. He was surprised at first that people started saying it but he knows it's politics. He just really wants to discuss the main issues, which don't seem to be getting much discussion. I absolutely can't wait until the debates!!!! Jon asked Kerry a question he said he didn't have to answer if it was too personal--"is it true that every time I eat ketchup, your wife gets a nickel?" That was funny. Also, Jon asked a question and moved close and stared at Kerry, so Kerry moved close and stared back. Kerry made a joke about their profiles and Jon said something about he knows Kerry has 1/4 Jew in him but he (himself) is all Jew. Funny stuff.

Enough politics talk. I don't watch The Daily Show enough. When I think of The Daily Show, I think of 2 times I have seen it (I have seen it more but these 2 stick out in my mind). Once was the first show back after Sept 11. Jon Stewart could see the towers from his apt. He was so speechless during the show. He sat there and just tapped his pen and had to go to commercial cuz he had nothing to say. It was very emotional. The other time was a year and a half ago (I think). There had been a big snow storm. Stephen Colbert (ps, is it really pronounced Col-bear? Everyone I know with that last name pronounces it as it's spelled. I wonder if they pronounce it that way for humor purposes) was outside doing a report on the stuff falling from the sky. He blamed it on terrorists or something. It was so funny. Jon said "isn't it just a snow storm?" and Stephan said "is it, Jon? Is it really?". Jon was cracking up. I love it when comedians can't keep a straight face (*cough*Jimmy Fallon*cough*).

Got the new Tim McGraw CD today. I really like it. I think my favorite so far is #2 "My Old Friend". I have only listened to it once though...Got my pictures developed. The Dean ones (and the David Berkeley one) did not come out. I know it's cuz I had my flash off, for fear of blinding anyone. And I can totally tell I got Dean puckering up. I am so pissed it didn't come out. Got some from the tennis. The close ones of Robby didn't come out as well, for the same reason (we were so close, I didn't want to distract him). The ones that did come out of Robby and Lleyton are good but they are just too far away. I also got a good one of Jan-Michael Gambill's ass (the one of Robby's ass is fuzzy).

It's Craig Kilborn's last week on The Late Late Show. I am very saddened. I heart Craig. He is the absolute best night show host. I'm gonna have to love Jon Stewart solely now. And Craig doesn't know what he is going to do...so who knows when I will get to see him again? He's so freakin hot...and I usually hate cocky guys. Maybe it's cuz he always sounds so funny when being cocky, it almost makes it seem like he's not really but only for the cameras. I will never be able to accept the fact of how old he is. 42? (Update--I just looked it up and I am correct in my guessing of his age--his birthday was yesterday, the 24th, so he's barely 42) Are you kidding me?

That mens gymnastics last night was crazy. This Russian did an amazing routine on the high bar, with a slight bobble on the landing. He got a terrible score. The crowd booed for a good 10 minutes. Our poor guy had to go next and wait until the crowd settled. Our guy did a good routine, maybe his best, but I still think the Russian was better. Our guy ends up with the silver. Even the guy who won gold (who, actually was tied with the American but the tie breaker rules are complicated) wasn't as good, in my opinion. I feel bad for the Russian. I also feel bad for Morgan Hamm. He's the twin brother of our silver medalist, Paul. Paul got 3 medals and Morgan only got the team one. Morgan did tie for 3rd with a guy on the high bar but yet again, those stupid tie breaker rules. I think maybe it's ok for the gold, even the silver, to have to break a tie. But bronze? Come on, why not give 2 bronzes????

I know I had other things to talk about but I forget...maybe I will remember tomorrow. Good night!

background Posted by Hello

I haven't been that political recently but after reading an article today, I did a little net search and came up with a few things to mention.

John Kerry is on "The Daily Show" tonight. I absolutely can't wait. I hope I remember to watch it. There's an article in the Post today talking about it. They point out an interesting fact. Bush has put a "moratorium on talk about his behavior under the age of 40 and everyone (in the press) is abiding by it". Yet, all they can do is try to belittle or negate Kerry's war achievements from when he was younger. Are you kidding me? How is that right?

In case you some how have missed it, you can see the Bush TV ad here (the one I am referring to is titled "Victory). I saw it before it was in the news and I was yelling at the TV, complaining to mom and Cari (who were out of the room when I saw it). I agree with the Iraqis (and probably the Afghanistan people, but I haven't heard) that it's ridiculous.

I am so sick of ads that are negative towards the opposing people (you can see one at the link above titled "Intel"). Why can't everyone just have clean campaigns where you say why you should be elected and not have to have negative stuff about the other? Obviously, you need to have negative ads if you are worried about being elected. I have always said I hate people who do this and yet again, it's the opposing party who is doing so. And they go and make it like the other side is doing the same thing? They rag on us for doing it but refuse to take down their ads? How hypocritical. Come on now. And...Bob Dole is a jerk.

I'd like to talk to those 6% of people who think our economic conditions are excellent.

Through a google search to find that TV ad, I found this site. Love it! My favorite ad is the "What Are We Teaching Our Children?" The six winners are on this front page but check out all of the ads--there are many good ones. Update: if you click on "top 150 choices", look at #17 "Grow Up". I like that one...oh there are so many to like.

So, in my talking to Jamie, I have found out she cannot see my blog as I see it. Let me know what you all see. Jamie sees a completely white background and the links are brown. The text is dark green and the title is light yellow with a green background (with the quote red), as they are supposed to be. If you see my blog correctly, the background is light yellow and there is a border on the left of leaves and ladybugs. PLEASE tell me you see this!

"Let's save our Hallmark moment"

OK, I fixed everything I had changed. I still can't figure out how to move my comments over. If anyone has an idea, let me know! Thanks! And, enjoy!

SHIT

I just spent HOURS changing my blog and I lost it...I am so freakin pissed off...guess I will work on it again when I wake up.

"You all belong in a loony bin"

I just went to liquid generation to see if I felt like doing that quiz again. I didn't but I did a few others (apparently I am like Serena Williams--vomit--and I am a white trash poseur). I clicked on games. Some of the stuff there is raunchy and rather rude. I played "Mary-Kate Olsen's Crack-Man". It's really funny, though I don't like the making fun of Mary-Kate. It's just like Pac-Man except she's sniffing the crack as you go, with sniffing sounds! How horrible is that? You should check it out.

I have commented a lot in the last day so go ahead and read everything. The reason I decided to comment now is I just remembered we saw a car yesterday with a "VIVABush" sticker, along with a Van Hollen sticker. Not being from our area you may not know who Van Hollen is. Let me inform you. He is a democrat in congress. I don't vote for him because I live about 2 minutes from the line--the other side of Germantown does vote for him. We get stuck with someone else, who is a democrat but I don't like as much. Anyway, back on topic. He is for a woman's right to chose. He is against the war. He is BIG into protecting the environment. He has great views on and has helped in numorous Maryland policies involving eduction (that I agree with). He is for gun control. Needless to say, it's VERY odd for someone to be supporting both Bush and Van Hollen. That's all...

On a different note, Taylor Dent lost in the battle for the bronze medal in Olympic tennis today. The third set went to 16-14. In case you have no idea how significant that is, one must win a set by 2 with at least 6 (so, for example, 6-4 is fine). Taylor was down 5-4 in the last set and broke Gonzalez to tie it up. There wasn't another break of serve until it was tied at 14-14. The first 2 sets together took less than an hour and a half. The last one took nearly 2 hours. How upsetting.

Something keeps messing up how the above is supposed to look. How annoying. I also did a quiz from liquidgeneration.com that said I was Samantha Baker from Sixteen Candles (which John Hughes film character are you?) but when I posted it here, it got erased and now I don't feel like retaking it.

"That's really special but, um, aren't we supposed to be talking about me?"

Happy Mom Birthday! (It's from "yesterday" but I haven't gone to bed yet so it doesn't count)

Well, Mardy won today. I am absolutely thrilled. If he wins, he will be all over the talk shows. Even if he loses, hopefully he will be all over the talk shows. Taylor still has a chance for the bronze so gooooo Dent.

Today at Legg Mason, Robby and Lleyton won. Every time I think of Hewitt's name, I think of saying "Llllllleyton". I think the double "l" at the beginning of his name and "Lloyd" are kind lame. They both played pretty well so tomorrow should be a good match. I hope it's on TV, and I don't mean the tennis channel, since we don't get that (excuse me, but don't you think more people here would rather have the tennis channel than the golf channel? Golf is so boring...and I would watch tennis every day if we had the tennis channel.)

Got burnt again today. Not too bad. I put sun block on at 1:30 or so and reapplied at 3:45. My ears are the worst part but so are my cheeks (I didn't reapply on my face). Actually, my forehead feels a little itchy like it got sun but I don't know how cuz the sun was behind us and I had on a visor and sunglasses so I don't know what was exposed. My legs, the palest part of my body ever shown, just don't seem to get the sun. It's always my arms and face. No wonder I am getting freckles on my arms more and more and my legs still look pale as shit (actually, shit isn't pale, is it?). I have gotten to the point in my life where I try to avoid the sun at all costs. I really don't want skin cancer. Remember how Amy M, Becky and Stacey would always talk about the tanning salon and how often they went? And it seemed kind of like a competition. And they told me I should tan. I will laugh in the faces of cancer if someone gets it. OK, I'm not that mean. But if I can prevent a type of cancer by staying away from UV light, why not?

David Berkeley has a one-minute song on one of his albums titled "Green Room". Before hearing it, Cari and I decided that it will be played at The Greene Room...I am listening now and as I kinda expected, there are no words. I wonder why it's called Green Room. I love it when artists title tracks with not so obvious titles. Of course, not all songs should be titled like that...but some are good.

There was something else I was going to write about but I totally forget. Cari joined friendster...so should you! I'll make you a book thong if you do! *grin*

"That is so sweet, I think I'm going to barf"

So last night was a blast. Dean ended up going first (though he had told us he wouldn't!). He wore the same shirt he wore at 2 of the Border's nights. While on stage, he realized this and made a comment--something like "I just realized I am wearing a shirt I wore about 3 times last week. I forgot people who were there would be here. You know how you get a new shirt and it's all you wear?" Then, he went into a story about how there's always a kid in every classroom that smells like pee and if you don't think anyone smells like pee, then you're that kid. It was amusing how he worded it. "Irish Bars" has an echo on the CD and each time we see him, we sing the echo. Last night, he had a lot of people there, who he said he used to live with. So during the echo, about 10-12 or more people sang it so it sounded terrific. He kinda laughed in the middle of his singing cuz it was such a shock to have so many singing.

The second person was Clare Burson. She had a really good voice but Cari and I didn't like her lyrics a lot. Megan said it's cuz she's from the south and people there write more about the world around them and what they encounter as opposed to being very lyrical. For example, she had a song about 2 cockroaches that were in her apt. Very odd.

The last one was David Berkeley. He was hot (I think Jamie would like him) and I liked his songs. I bought both of his CDs. And I paid with my credit card and he thanked me by using my name. LOL..woohoo!

After David, we went back and I bought the CDs and Megan and Cari talked to Dean. Megan met a band last week and one member knows Dean so she had to tell him the guy said hi. BY the time I went over, they were talking about Adam Richman. Dean asked if I imed him and he was excited. It was hilarious. Oh, when David Berkeley was singing, Dean saw us and said "oh hey!" and gave Cari a hug...then didn't give Megan and me hugs...he kinda seemed like after he did it it was awkward so he didn't continue...I am jealous, Cari! :)

OK, on another note, the semis of Olympic tennis is 2 Chileans vs. 2 Americans! We have 100% chance of getting at least one medal! Yay! Goooo Fish..and Dent!

Off to Legg Mason for tennis today. We will be seeing Ginepri (woohoo!), Hewitt and Agassi today. Very excited. It is not even 11 AM and it's already 83 degrees in here. It's absolutely ridiculous. I am going to get so much sun today. I HATE this hot weather. Argh.

Wednesday, August 18, 2004

"Hello, Japan"

We got to Legg Mason today and one of the booths near the front was a phone company. They said they are having free phone calls for all over the world for the week. Cari turned to me and said the above title. LOL

Anyway, Ginepri and Hewitt won today. Saulnier, who we were also rooting for, also won, though that isn't as much of a big deal to me. Ginepri and Gambill played doubles (Ginepri is probably still playing) but I don't know scores. I know I got sun--I'm already itchy--even though I smell of sunblock. It obviously didn't do a very good job. I don't think we were in the sun that long. Maybe we should bring in the sunblock Friday and I should reapply every hour (Friday, we get there by 1, whereas today was before 4).

In Olympic tennis news, Roddick lost. How disappointing. So did all three US women. Dent and Fish pulled through for the US so I am pulling for them (I think they may be in different halves so they could technically get gold and silver). Tomorrow, live tennis at 10 AM. Hopefully we'll see some Americans, since Federer and Henman (who they show a lot) already lost.

Tomorrow is Dean Fields at Jammin Java. I can't wait. I got a shirt that says "wow, your music sucks real hard". I think he'll enjoy it. We plan on taking pictures of him! Heehee...

"Well Sinead O'Rebellion. Shock me, shock me, shock me with that deviant behavior"

I am very sad. We are going to Legg Mason tomorrow...and one of my favorite players who won 2 years ago lost today. How upsetting is that? The freakin first round. To some Chilean whom I have NEVER heard of. Are you kidding me? Dammit James!

On another note, Federer lost at the Olympics today. That makes me a little happy, though that sounds mean. Just means the US men can get that much farther. Here's hoping we get all 3 medals, though that's unlikely. Mardy had a great win over #5 Ferrero and Andy won against a newly-returned Haas, who has been playing well. And Taylor's still in it too (Sadly, Spadea lost today, after winning a first round match of something like 6-1, 6-0). Sorry to you Brits out there that Henman lost in the first round (if you even care). I do like Henman and would like to have seen him go far...but alas, that did not happen.

On a lighter note, Charla and Mirna were finally eliminated from The Amazing Race! I am SOOOOOOOO ecstatic. That Mirna was a total bitch.

My other reality show (Big Brother, if you couldn't guess) of the night still has me upset. My favorite gay "friend" (*wink*) Will is still on the block. I love him. Cari has been getting irritated at him but I don't see it. He is so fab. I bet Parsons loves him. Megan watches but she doesn't really like anyone, except she does think Drew is hot, which is totally true.

"Why do I get the feeling I am being royally screwed?"

Went to the fair. Jamie and I really weren't into the concert and we don't know why. We heard Craig Morgan sing about 6 songs, including the song we like ("Almost Home"--it's about a homeless man and I nearly cry every time I hear it) and another song we didn't know he sang that's his new single. We left after the latter. We didn't even wait for him to finish, let alone hear any of Buddy Jewell. We kept seeing Bush/Cheney stickers on people and wanted to vomit. We finally saw Kerry/Edwards stickers and decided to find the booth. Got some free stickers and bought some buttons. Yay! I can show my support, seeing as my bumper stickers I ordered have not shown up. When we got home, Jamie put her sticker on the mailbox. So the mailbox will only accept Kerry stuff and nothing Bush. I just came up with that this minute...though it should be allowed.

I can't wait 'til football season starts. Joe and Amy commenting just got me so excited. So did us getting the Penn State football yearbook in the mail the other day. Dad was talking to me on the phone about someone who wasn't allowed to play last year who is back this year. I remembered his number. I impressed myself with that fact! I am excited that a fellow Germantownie (?) is a starter this year. He didn't go to my high school (well, maybe he did his freshman year--I can't remember when the other high school opened) but it still makes me happy when I see people from here. Have I ever told you that the two guitarists from Hootie and The Blowfish are from G-town? I don't like them but they're the only famous people I know of so I like to say it. The year they became really big, they spoke at a nearby high school graduation and we were at first offended that they didn't come to ours. Later, we found out they were terrible students and we didn't want them anyway.

"I used to pee in my bed"

OK, I didn't but I like that line in Empire Records. I am rather tired. I need to shower. I need to call Jamie to discuss timing for the fair tonight. I have been putting it off.

I have nothing else to say. I just really wanted to post that quote.

"What's with today, today?"

I am tired. So mad the Skins lost last night. Soooooo close. But I'ma need Joe Gibbs to pick Hasselbeck as the starting QB. I know he threw an awful interception last night but in both preseason games so far, he has played better than Brunell or Ramsey. There's so much talk about "Brunell or Ramsey?" I don't think they are giving Hasselbeck enough of a chance. The commentators last night said he was a "young kid". Hello, Eli Manning is younger and I am SURE he is going to start at least half the Giants games this season. And I hate Manning. PS, they said last night that Lavar Arrington (Penn Stater, by the way) has a car with the license plate "QBKILLA". Love that!

We are going to see "The Princess Diaries 2" later. Yay. I keep hearing that critics hate it. Cari says people she has talked to liked it. I hope I like it. Speaking of that though, I just read in the paper today that Heather Matarazzo (is that how you spell her name?) has come out, saying she has found love with an up-and-coming actress who "isn't famous yet but will be". I had no idea. Hmmmm...

Found out about this site from the newspaper. You can plug in website addresses and see the different looks they had over the years. Of course, things like our blogs don't work. But I liked seeing the transformations of Tony's, Dean's and Matt's sites.

"Take your purse and get the hell out of my store"

I love Empire Records. I love love the special fan edition. When I was awake at 5 AM 2 nights ago, I decided to watch it. I only made it about 1/2 hour then I got sleepy again. I finished it last night and wrote down some quotes that I will be using in the coming days as blog entry titles. They make me happy.Something that won't be a title is from an extra scene in the special fan edition:

Mark: What's RIP mean?
Deb: Really Idiotic Party

I have to work today but then I will be off for over a week. I mentioned not working next week when mom and I just worked out and my boss who I work with on Fridays was like "you're not working Friday? Oh no, I'm not working Friday". I was like "It's been on the calendar cuz we've had the tickets for months" and the other person working said she had seen it there. So I don't know if they'll get 2 people to cover us both but mine has been there for a while.

A local couple had quadruplets a few weeks ago. At the first sonogram, they thought they would have a girl and a boy. A week later, the girl egg split so they though it was identical twin girls and a boy. Another week went by and one of the girl eggs split AGAIN. So, the quads are a set of identical girl triplets and a boy. And the babies lasted 35 weeks in the mom (a total of over 15 pounds of babies)! How cool is that??????

Next week is going to be quite a busy week. Monday night is the county fair, with a free concert of Buddy Jewell and Craig Morgan. I think we talked about doing something Tuesday...but I can't remember what. Wednesday is tennis. Thursday is Dean at Jammin Java. And Friday is tennis again. We might have plans for Saturday too. I haven't had so much to do in a week in quite a while.

OK, breakfast (at noon) and a shower, then shopping for a blanket and shoes then work. Ahhhhhh!

"Mary-Anne, you're such a whore"

In the stereo: Adam Richman (I was debating whether to change the spelling of the name in my title but I decided not to, since I am not actually a whore)

I love it when I complain and things go my way. Not that I expect things to go my way all the time, but it is nice. First, I am an idiot about those damn tickets and Ticketmaster is allowing us to return them for a refund (which, like, NEVER happens). Then, I complain I want my Adam Richman CD and it freakin comes in the mail the next day! Woohoo! I also almost started complainign that I wanted a magazine to read and I got one in the mail today, too. Although I don't feel too swift today, life hasn't been treating me that bad.

PS, I forgot to post yesterday that I am cavity-free. Not that I thought I would have them but it's always good to hear that I don't. Love going to the dentist and talking to Sharon, my dentist's asst. Too bad she was busy most of the time so I couldn't chat. Did get to "chat" with the woman who actually does the teeth cleaning. She doesn't shut up. It's rather annoying.

I was "weeding"

So the previous entry was about a stupid thing I did having to do with some concert tickets. It's a really dumb thing that I don't feel like explaining but I feel like such an idiot. Sometimes I just don't think. (UPDATE: problem has been solved and I feel great relief.)

I am having cravings tonight. I am not usually like this each month but I am today. Cheese ball. Mmmmmmmm. Love the cheese ball :)

Alrighty, I have nothing else to post, except did I say I heard the Adam Richman song "Mary-Anne"? I absolutely love it. I was feeling blue yesterday and even though it's not a positive song, it just makes me feel better. It's quite catchy, as Jamie described it. I like listening to it each day. I need my CD to come in the mail. They said 1-2 weeks, which isn't bad, but I am still impatient.

Cari and I are going to watch "13 Going On 30" now. We saw it in the theater and really liked it. I just watched the deleted scenes (and am posting this as Cari showers). Love this:

Richard (the boss): ...she was always taking notes
Lucy: She's a secretary.
Richard: "Whatever" (he did the air quotes! CORRECTION: he did the air quotes in the extended scene and not the actual movie--how rude!)

"I've loved you like a stranger, I've missed you like a head cold"

In the stereo: Switchfoot

Getting ready for work. I don't feel like going. But at least I work with Allyson. And I have off next week, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

I had to turn off Norton in order to finally see Adam Richman's site and hear the song. It's actually a good song. Plus, I know it's not about me, so I don't hate it. I listened to the other songs you can listen to and I like them so I bought the CD. I'll let you know if I like it.

On the site I bought the CD, I also got 2 other CDs of guys I found through another site (doing a Dean/Adam search), Pete Schmidt and Christopher Jak. They sounded good too. It is fueling my love for male singer/songwriters. Yay! I am sure if I lived in New York, I would LIVE at The Bitter End and The Living Room. These guys have played there, as well as Dean and Tony and others I am sure. Aaaaaahhhhhh...

Friendster is fun, passing messages with Megan, back and forth. Too bad I ONLY HAVE TWO FRIENDS.

I really need to go to Torrid...ok, not need, but I really want to...OK, work time...

So everyone should get on Friendster, since Megan practically begged me (*wink wink*).

Saw Dean for the 3rd time. He was at his best tonight, I think. I believe he did 4 covers and they rocked (Marcia asked him to play James Taylor and he totally did!). Jamie (with the push from me, who initially wanted it) asked him if he would play "Paper Dolls", which is one of my favorites off of his CD. He said he never plays it live because tuning his guitar usually makes a string break. He didn't break any strings and it sounded great. He played longer tonight, and I think the audience really liked him (including mom!).

Dean told us on Thursday about this guy (a friend did he say?) who has a song called "Mary-Anne" (Dean signed my copy of his CD). He said we'd like it and all and while he was writing the guy's website down, he said no we probably wouldn't like it, since it's kind-of an anti-Mary-Anne song. Well, we tried to go on, and on my computer, it won't even let me on the site and Jamie's won't let us hear the music. So I told Dean tonight and he totally gave me the guy's IM name and told me to IM him and say I am having problems. So I did as soon as we got home and he was cool about it, sending me another link that got an error, to which he found out he got an error now too. But, now I seem to have lost that link so I won't be able to check it again...anyway, see you if can get onto Adam Richman's site and listen to the first song that comes on (Megan did tonight). I found a website that sells his CD with clips of all the songs so I heard the part about "Mary-Anne, you're such a whore" or whatever--but I still think it's fab--cuz how many songs are there with my name in them? LOL

Dean has a friend who made a movie called "Clayton Lost" which has 4 of Dean's songs in it. It's being pitched at festivals so who knows when we'll get to see it but keep it in mind for the future--he says it's really good.

My back is killing me so I am off to bed (it is 2:30...)...g'nite

Saw Dean last night. He was great. Such a cool person. Cari told him Jamie and I are stalking him and will see him tonight and tomorrow too. Yay. Cari's coworker Joanie went last night. Tonight, Megan's coming. Tomorrow, mom, Jamie's mom, our neighbor down the street, and a few of Jamie's mom's friends are all coming. It's quite exciting introducing people to him. Last night, it seemed like we were the only ones who knew him but he ended up selling quite a few CDs (I wanna say 18 or so), which must mean they liked him! I really enjoyed the new music as well. Hopefully we will be able to request "Paper Dolls" tonight or tomorrow.

I worked this morning at 7 so that I could have off tonight. It was hard getting up so early. During the school year, I get up at 7, not get at work then. I am tired. At least I can sleep in tomorrow.

Tennis is quite exciting. The final 8 in the tournament this week include 7 players I like (Roddick, Haas, Robredo, Safin, Agassi, Moya, Hewitt) and one I am indifferent towards (Santoro). I don't know when there has been quarterfinals I was so excited about!

Big Brother last night was soooooo good. Asshole Scott is finally gone. The twin twist was revealed, with Jase being totally pissed. And, "Nakomis" (Jennifer) got Head of Household so that's even more sadness for Jase...boohoo, jerk. Yay!

Alrighty, it's showertime before Jamie and I (and possibly Judy) meet Megan in Frederick for Dean. Lata!

so I've started making beaded jewelry. I made 2 necklaces I like, a pair of earrings I don't care much for, and 2 bracelets--one for Cari to match her new shoes (black with turquoise) and one for me to match my Care Bears shirt (clear beads with scattered pink and one each turquoise and yellow/orange). I like the bracelets a lot too. I still need to go to the store to get some more string. I am using the thinner string that doesn't seem as strong, so I'm doubling up.

There's a marathon of "Roswell"s today. It's like the last 8 episodes. I don't remember when I stopped watching it but I haven't seen any that have been on today yet. It's on til 4. Mom and I are going to Curves later so I will miss some...maybe I'll tape them.

Jamie and I are leaving for Dean in Hagerstown at around 4:30. Yay, Dean! I am so wearing my Care Bears shirt and bracelet. LOL...lata...

Stop calling me Warren! My name isn't f#$@ing Warren!

My back really hurts today. Cari still refuses to massage me. She said we should play cards all day tomorrow, cuz she has off, as do I, and she doesn't feel like leaving the house. I said I'd do it under one condition and she declined (hey, my back hurts after playing cards for a little while most days, let alone all day).

I'm making better and better book thongs. I have been to the craft stores (Michaels and A.C.Moore) a total of 5 times in a week. And I am now out of string. And I want clasps so I can make a necklace.

I can't wait for 2 weeks. It's so exciting to actually have plans. Monday the 16th we are going to the county fair, where Buddy Jewell and Craig Morgan are having a FREE concert (gee, why am I going? Oh wait, did I say FREE?). Then, that Wednesday and Friday, we are going to the Legg Mason tennis tourney. I get to see my boys James Blake and Robby Ginepri, since the "better" ones will be at the Olympics. Agassi and Hewitt will also be there, among others. And that Friday is mom's bday. She's gonna be my favorite number. Shhh...it's a secret...but Sarah has the number in her internet names (blog, email). Awwww, yay mom!

We had yet another bad t-storm tonight, while I was at work. We lost power for about a minute. Allyson had the clock in her hands, ready to tell everyone, every 30 seconds, "change stations now". Luckily it came back (or, not so lucky...)...I think it would've been cool if we lost power--it could have deterred people from working out during it. We could be lazy and paid. She said at her mom's Curves, they lost power for 3 days and she had the workers out there telling people when to change, since she didn't want to lose business those three days. I am getting really tired of the t-storms and bad rain. I don't remember it ever being this much. I have lived here my whole life. Imagine if it were 30 degrees out and how much snow we could have on the ground. Dammit, why don't I live north?

Good night...

Went through a box left from college (finally). Found my calendar from sophomore year, which was called "College Years" and had places for pictures on each month and you could write in. By the end of that year, I had gotten more creative and wrote stuff everywhere, pasted in small things that we got through communes, as well as putting pictures all over the months. I love reading it and looking at it all and remembering things. I tried to find another for junior year, searching all over the internet, but they weren't made anywhere. I loved that. I did find (last year, online) a "College Years" book that you can do the same thing but it's for all the years. I bought it (I think through amazon) and started filling it out. Not done yet.

I also found my letter of induction into the Secret Society of Pylons (Pylonic Society). Oh Heather, where forth art thou?????? As well as my large sized Rho Alpha Pi doll (remember the time I tore up Alyssa's? Oh wait, you guys weren't there yet).

Made some whipped cream today. Much better with confectioners sugar than granulated. Mmmmmmm...

Here is something from the paper today. Every Sunday there's 2 "Life Is Short: Autobiography As Haiku"'s. Months ago the Headstart teacher at the school I sub at was in. The first one today (with the picture) is the woman who was in charge of special ed at the school. I remember hearing the story from her months ago. Brought tears to my eyes once again.
